Who Got Into The Baseball Hall Of Fame 2021?
Find out which baseball legends were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021.
Introduction
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is an American history museum and hall of fame, located in Cooperstown, New York, and operated by private interests. It serves as the central point for the study of baseball in the United States and honours players who have distinguished themselves in playing the game. The Hall’s motto is “Preserving History, Honoring Excellence, Connecting Generations.”
This year saw one of the largest classes ever inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame with a total of six new members. Three of the six were elected by the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA), while another three were elected by the Today’s Game Era Committee.
The class is headlined by two first-ballot inductees in Derek Jeter and Larry Walker. Jeter was easily elected, receiving 396 out of 397 votes (99.7%), making him just the second player ever to be unanimously voted into the Hall (the first was Mariano Rivera last year). Walker also cruised to election, garnering 76.6% of the vote in his 10th and final year on the ballot. The third player elected by the BBWAA was pitcher Curt Schilling, who received 70% of the vote in his ninth year on the ballot.
The Today’s Game Era Committee elected catcher Ted Simmons and general managers Billy Beane and Marvin Miller. Simmons received 11 out of 16 votes (68.8%), while Beane got 9 out of 16 (56.3%) and Miller 7 out ouf 16 (43.8%). Beane’s election was notable as he is just the second person whose primary contributions to baseball have come as a front office executive rather than a player or manager (the other is Branch Rickey).
With their elections, Jeter, Walker, Simmons, Beane, and Miller will all be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame during ceremonies in Cooperstown on July 25th, 2021.

Barry Larkin is a former shortstop who played his entire career for the Cincinnati Reds. He was a 12-time All-Star and won the National League MVP award in 1995. He was also a member of the Reds’ World Series-winning team in 1990.
Edgar Martinez is a former designated hitter who played his entire career for the Seattle Mariners. He was a seven-time All-Star and won two batting titles. He is widely considered to be one of the best hitters of his generation.
