Measure the slap shot speed of the top 10 players in the NHL
To measure the slap shot speed of the top 10 players in the NHL, we used a high-speed camera to track the puck as it flew off the player’s stick. We then calculated the puck’s velocity using the known distance between the player and the goal.

Results
The slapshot is the fastest shot in hockey. It is executed by swinging the stick as hard as possible while the blade is kept horizontal to the ice. The player transfers all their weight from their back foot to their front foot while swinging, which gives the slapshot its power. The player then follows through by keeping their stick on the ice and letting go of the puck just before the point of impact.
