Ryan Mallett
Of all the NFL players, Ryan Mallett has the lowest GPA. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Arkansas, and was considered one of the best quarterbacks in that draft class.
Vince Young
According to a report, former Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young had the lowest GPA among NFL players. Young’s GPA was reportedly a 1.78.
JaMarcus Russell
JaMarcus Russell had one of the shortest NFL careers in recent memory, and it appears that his struggles off the field were at least partially to blame. Russell played just three seasons with the Oakland Raiders after being drafted with the first overall pick in 2007, and he was out of the league entirely by 2009. In 2012, it was revealed that Russell had been arrested for possession of codeine syrup, and he has since been convicted of multiple drug charges.
In May 2014, Deadspin revealed that Russell had reportedly been working as a security guard at a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen in Alabama. At the time of publication, Russell had not responded to Deadspin’s request for comment.
