Steph Curry

Steph Curry is known for his shooting abilities and has set numerous NBA records. He is currently the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made. Curry is a three-time NBA champion and has been named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player twice.

3-point shooting percentage

In the 2015–16 season, Curry broke his own record for most 3-pointers in a season with 402. He also averaged a career-high 30.1 points per game, to go along with 6.7 assists and 5.4 rebounds. His 302 3-pointers made in 2014–15 was not only an NBA record, but it was also the most ever in a single season by any player in any of the five major basketball leagues (NBA, ABA, FIBA World Championships, FIBA Americas Championship, and Olympic Games).

3-pointers made per game

In the 2014-2015 season, Curry averaged 4.3 made 3-pointers per game, shattering the previous record of 3.1 set by Ray Allen during the 2005-2006 season. He finished the season with 286 made 3-pointers, also a new record.

Ray Allen

Ray Allen is a shooting guard who played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Seattle SuperSonics, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is widely considered one of the best shooters in NBA history. He has played in 10 NBA All-Star Games and won two NBA championships. Allen is currently the NBA’s all-time leader in three-point field goals made.

3-point shooting percentage

While three-point shooting percentage is not the be-all and end-all of shooting, it is a good indicator of a player’s efficiency from beyond the arc.
Ray Allen is widely considered one of the best shooters in NBA history, and his three-point shooting percentage reflects that. For his career, Allen has shot 40.0% from three-point range, which is the second highest mark in NBA history (behind only Steve Kerr). In particular, Allen was incredibly consistent from three-point range during his time with the Seattle Supersonics, where he shot over 40% in each of his five seasons with the team.

While Allen’s overall shooting percentages have dipped since he joined the Boston Celtics in 2007, he has still managed to be an effective shooter from beyond the arc. In fact, Allen set the record for most three-pointers made in a season in 2011-12, when he hit 269 threes. He has also made at least 200 three-pointers in a season seven times, which is more than any other player in NBA history.

In the 1997-98 season, Allen averaged 2.5 three-pointers per game and finished the season with 225 three-pointers. The following season, Allen averaged 3.6 three-pointers per game and shot a then-record 246 three-pointers. In the 1999-00 season, Allen became the first player in NBA history to make at least 200 three-pointers in a season while also averaging over 20 points per game. He finished the season with 209 three-pointers and a career-high 26.4 points per game.

Reggie Miller was an American professional basketball player who played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Miller was known for his precision three-point shooting, especially in clutch situations. He holds the NBA record for the most three-pointers made in a career with 2,560.

3-point shooting percentage

In basketball, a three-point shot is a field goal attempt made from beyond the three-point line, a designated arc surrounding the basket. A successful attempt is worth three points, in contrast to the two points awarded for shots made within the three-point line and the one point for each made free throw.

Shooting percentage simply measures the number of successful three-pointers divided by the total number of attempts. The league average hovered around 28 percent for many years, but has slowly been on the rise as teams have become increasingly reliant on the long ball. Reggie Miller currently holds the record for best career three-point shooting percentage, having made 2,560 of his 5, 319 attempts for a success rate of 48.2 percent.

In the 1995–96 season, Miller averaged a league-leading 3.5 three-pointers per game, en route to setting the then-record for threes in a season with 122. Miller made at least one three-pointer in every game that season, and his 122 three-pointers were also a then-record for most consecutive games with a three. He set the mark for most threes in a half with eight in the first half against the Charlotte Hornets on December 23, 1995. On April 7, 1996, Miller hit nine threes against the Milwaukee Bucks, leading the Pacers to an 111–102 victory and establishing a new single-game record for three-pointers made (a record which has since been tied by Damon Stoudamire and Vince Carter).
