Jerry Rice

Jerry Rice is widely considered the greatest wide receiver in NFL history. He played for 20 seasons, mainly with the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. He is the NFL’s all-time leader in most receiving categories, including receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown receptions.

His accomplishments

He is widely considered to be the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, and often called the greatest player in NFL history. He is the leading receiver in NFL history in most major statistical categories. He played the majority of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, but also played briefly with the Oakland Raiders.

Why he is the best

In 1987, Jerry Rice caught 86 passes for 1,570 yards and 15 touchdowns, leading the NFL in both categories. The following year, he caught 22 passes for 455 yards and two touchdowns in just 12 games. Despite the fact that he only played in 12 games, his 22 receptions were enough to place him second in the NFL behind only Hall of Famer Steve Largent. In 1989, he caught 61 passes for 1,316 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading the league in receiving yards for the second time in his career. He also led the league in receptions (61) and receiving touchdowns (13).

Randy Moss

NFL great Randy Moss has the most receiving yards of any player in NFL history. He is a sure-fire Hall of Famer, and his name will go down in the history books. He has had an amazing career, and there is no doubt that he is the best receiver of all time.

His accomplishments

Moss is considered one of the greatest wide receivers of all time. He holds the NFL single-season touchdown reception record (23 in 2007), the NFL single-season touchdown reception record for a rookie (17 in 1998), and is second on the NFL all-time regular season touchdown reception list with 156. He is tied for second on the NFL all-time career regular season receiving yards list with 15,292 yards. In 2007, he was voted as a starter to the NFC Pro Bowl team. During his 16-year career, he played for 4 teams: the Minnesota Vikings (1998–2004), Oakland Raiders (2005), New England Patriots (2007–2010), and Tennessee Titans (2010).

Moss was inducted into both the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the college football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility in 2018.

Terrell Owens

Born in Alexander City, Alabama, Terrell Owens was a standout football and basketball player in high school. He played college football at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a two-time All-American. After being drafted in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, Owens became one of the most prolific and controversial wide receivers in NFL history. As of 2019, he ranked second in all-time career receiving yards and third in all-time career receiving touchdowns.

His accomplishments

Terrell Owens is a former American football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Owens holds or shares several NFL records. His 15,934 career receiving yards is second only to Jerry Rice, while his 153 receiving touchdowns is third all time. As of 2019, he ranks 8th all time in total receiving yards and ninth in total touchdowns. Owens was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft after a collegiate career at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

After playing two seasons with San Francisco, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles where he spent seven seasons from 2004 to 2010 and was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and helped the Eagles win Super Bowl XXXIX over the New England Patriots.

He then played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2006 to 2008, winning another Super Bowl during his first season with the team. He also played for the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals in his final two seasons, retiring with 1,078 receptions for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns in 219 games.

Why he is the best

There is no question that Terrell Owens is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, receivers in NFL history. He is 2nd all time in receiving yards, 3rd in touchdowns, and 8th in catches. Not to mention his incredible ability to make plays in the clutch. In his 15 year career, he had 1,200+ yards and double digit touchdowns 11 times! He also was selected to 6 Pro Bowls and was a first team All-Pro 3 times.
