Who Is Eliminated from the NFL Playoffs?

The NFL playoffs are in full swing, and there are plenty of storylines to follow. One of the biggest is who will be eliminated from the playoffs. We’ll take a look at some of the contenders and their chances of being eliminated.

AFC Wild Card Playoffs

The Buffalo Bills are set to take on the Houston Texans in the first AFC Wild Card game of the 2020 NFL Playoffs. The Bills are coming off of a impressive 10-6 season, but they will have their work cut out for them against the Texans, who went 11-5 this season.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens are a professional American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team plays its home games at M&T Bank Stadium and is headquartered in Owings Mills.

The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocate his franchise to Baltimore. As part of a settlement between Modell, the city of Cleveland, and the other NFL teams, the Browns’ personnel and assets were divided between the newly founded Baltimore Ravens and expansion Cleveland Browns. TheRavens have qualified for the NFL playoffs eleven times since 2000, with two Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), 15 playoff victories (9th all-time), four AFC North division championships (2003, 2006, 2011, 2018), and are currently the only team in the NFL to hold a perfect record in multiple Super Bowl appearances. The Ravens organization was led by general manager Ozzie Newsome from 1996 until his retirement after the 2018 season, and head coach John Harbaugh from 2008 to present.

The team is owned by Steve Bisciotti and valued at $2.7 billion, making them the 27th-most valuable sports franchise in the world. Forbes ranked the Ravens as the 19th-most valuable NFL team ($2.59 billion) in 2019

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The Texans compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division. The team plays its home games at NRG Stadium, a stadium it shares with the National League’s Houston Astros. The Texans have won two AFC South titles and clinched their first playoff berth in 2011.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts are eliminated from the NFL Playoffs.

Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are an American football team based in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The Chargers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. They were founded on August 14, 1959, and began play on September 10, 1960, as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), and spent their first season in Los Angeles, before moving to San Diego in 1961. The Chargers joined the NFL as result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970.

In 2002, after 55 seasons in San Diego, the Chargers announced their intentions to move back to Los Angeles. The following year, the team began construction on a new stadium at Hollywood Park Racetrack in Inglewood. In 2017, they officially relocated to Los Angeles ahead of schedule under a lease agreement with the Rams at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood; both teams share ownership of the stadium. The franchise has yet to win a Super Bowl title since joining the NFL but has had success in other postseason formats: it won an AFL title in 1963 and reached Super Bowl VIII that year; won two AFC divisional playoff games in 1994 and 2008; and won an AFC Wild Card Playoff game in 2007.

NFC Wild Card Playoffs

The NFL playoffs are down to the final four teams in the hunt for the Lombardi Trophy. In the AFC, the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs will face the fifth-seeded Indianapolis Colts. The NFC will feature the second-seeded New Orleans Saints hosting the third-seeded Philadelphia Eagles.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago, Illinois. The Bears compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. The Bears have won nine NFL Championships, including one Super Bowl, and hold the NFL record for the most enshrinees in the Pro Football Hall of Fame and the most retired jersey numbers. They have also recorded more victories than any other NFL franchise.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys have been eliminated from the NFC Wild Card Playoffs after their loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are a professional American football franchise based in Seattle, Washington. The Seahawks compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) West division. They joined the NFL in 1976 as an expansion team, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Seahawks are coached by Pete Carroll. Since 2002, they have played their home games at CenturyLink Field, located south of downtown Seattle. They previously played home games in the Kingdome (1976–1999) and Husky Stadium (1994, 2000–2001). Seahawks fans have been referred to collectively as the “12th Man”, “12th Fan”, or “12s”. Largent, Jones, Warren Moon, Joey Galloway, Matt Hasselbeck, Jimmy Graham, Marshawn Lynch, and Doug Baldwin have all been selected to Pro Bowls for their performances as Seahawks.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Eagles compete in the National Football League as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are Super Bowl LII champions, having defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 52.
