Contents
The NBA free agency period is just around the corner, and there are a number of big-name players who will be looking for new homes. Who is going to be the most sought-after free agent this summer?
Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was named NBA Rookie of the Year after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. Irving played college basketball for Duke University before joining the Cavaliers in 2011.
Kyrie Irving’s contract
Kyrie Irving will be a free agent in the NBA following the 2016-2017 season. His contract will expire, and he will become an unrestricted free agent. This means that he can sign with any team that he chooses, without that team having to give up anything in return. There have been rumors that Irving may be interested in signing with the Los Angeles Lakers, but nothing has been confirmed. He will likely command a max contract, which could be worth over $100 million.
Kyrie Irving’s stats
In his eight seasons in the NBA, Irving has averaged 22.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game. He was named an All-Star in 2013 and 2015, and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2012. He has also been selected to four All-NBA teams (second team in 2015, third team in 2016 and 2018, and first team in 2019). In 2016, he helped lead the Cavaliers to their first NBA championship, and was named the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player.
Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker, one of the best point guards in the NBA, will be a free agent this offseason. He is coming off of a great season with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging 25 points and 5.9 assists per game. Many teams will be interested in signing him, but it is unclear where he will end up.
Kemba Walker’s contract
Kemba Walker is entering the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics, and he will be an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2020. The Celtics are currently over the salary cap, so they will not be able to offer him a maximum contract. It is widely expected that Walker will sign a new contract with the Celtics for less than the maximum, so that the team can have more salary cap space to sign other players.
Kemba Walker’s stats
Kemba Walker (born May 8, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was drafted ninth overall by the Hornets in the 2011 NBA draft after playing college basketball for the Connecticut Huskies. Standing at 6 feet 1 inch (1.85 m), he plays the point guard position and is a four-time NBA All-Star.
In his eighth NBA season, Walker was named an All-Star for the fourth time. He was also named to the All-NBA Third Team, becoming just the second Charlotte Hornet ever to receive that honor.
