The American League of Major League Baseball (MLB) is one of two leagues that make up the MLB. It was founded in 1901 as the American League of Professional Baseball Clubs, and served as the newer and more modern of the two major leagues until the National League was founded in 1876.

The Highlanders were officially renamed the Yankees in 1913.

The team’s primary colors are navy blue, red, and white; their logo depicts a tomahawk chopping through a “B” with the word “Braves” written across it. They are nicknamed “the Bravos”, and often referred to referring to themselves as “America’s Team”. From 1991 to 2005, the Braves were one of the most successful teams in baseball, winning division titles an unprecedented 14 consecutive times in that period (omitting the strike-shortened 1994 season in which there were no official divisional champions). The Braves won the NL West 1991–93 and the NL East 1995–2005, after which they transferred to the NL East. The franchise was founded in Boston as the Boston Red Stockings (later Boston Red Caps andBoston Beaneaters) before relocating to Milwaukee as the Milwaukee Brewers (later Baltimore Orioles/St. Louis Browns/Brooklyn Dodgers/Los Angeles Angels) and then Atlanta in 1966. The team plays its home games at Wrigley Field, located on the city’s North Side.

The Cardinals should be in contention for a playoff spot once again in 2021.

Their home park is Marlins Park. Though one of only two MLB franchises to have never won a division title, the Marlins have won two World Series championships as a wild card team.
