The teams

The Golden State Warriors will face off against the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals. This will be the first time in NBA history that two teams from outside the United States will meet in the Finals. The Warriors are looking to win their third consecutive championship, while the Raptors are looking to win their first.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The franchise began with the 1947 purchase of a disbanded team, the Detroit Gems of the National Basketball League (NBL). The new team began playing in Minneapolis, calling themselves the Minneapolis Lakers. Initially a member of the NBL, the Lakers won the 1948 NBL championship before joining the rival Basketball Association of America (BAA), where they would win five of their next six championships,interrupting Boston’s streak of four consecutive BAA titles between 1957 and 1960. In 1965, they acquired center Wilt Chamberlain to spearhead a dynasty that saw them capture eight more NBA titles between 1967 and 1988. Although they failed to capture a ninth title with Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant in 2002–03 and 2004–05, another period championship run began in 2009 following LeBron James’ arrival. After defeating their cross-hall rivals San Antonio Spurs in five NFL Finals appearances during 2000–2010 earlier this decade including back-to-back championships in 2009–10 and 2010–11,,the Lakers are currently waiting for their record-extending 18th championship after losing to Toronto Raptors 4–2 in 2020 –21 season

Miami Heat

The Miami Heat are an American professional basketball team based in Miami. The Heat compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Southeast Division. They play their home games at the American Airlines Arena, and are one of the league’s eight original teams.

LeBron James

LeBron James has been to the NBA Finals nine times in his career. He’s won three championships, all with the Miami Heat. He was named NBA Finals MVP each time. When James returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014, he ended the city’s 52-year championship drought by leading them to the 2016 NBA title. In 2018, he again took the Cavs to the NBA Finals, but they were defeated by the Golden State Warriors in four games. In 2020, James helped the Lakers win their first championship since 2010. He was named Finals MVP for the fourth time in his career.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis (born March 11, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the power forward and center positions. Davis was the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. He is a five-time NBA All-Star and has been named to four All-NBA First Teams and three All-Defensive Teams. He has also led the league in blocks three times.

The game

The Los Angeles Lakers are in the NBA Finals! This is their first time in the Finals since 2010, and they’re facing off against the Miami Heat. The Heat have been to the Finals three times in the past six years, and they’re looking to win their second championship.

When is it?

The 2020 NBA Finals will begin on Thursday, October 1, 2020 (pending the completion of the playoffs) and will end no later than Sunday, October 18, 2020.

This best-of-seven playoff series will be played between the Eastern Conference and Western Conference champions and will decide the NBA champion for the 2020 season. The Finals will be broadcast on ABC.

Who will win?

It’s been an exciting NBA season, and the playoffs are finally here. After months of speculation, we now know which teams will be vying for the championship.

In the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks will face off against the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks swept the Detroit Pistons in the first round, and then defeated the Boston Celtics in five games. The Raptors also swept their first-round matchup against the Orlando Magic, and then went on to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers in seven games.

In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors will take on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors swept the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, and then won a hard-fought seven-game series against the Houston Rockets. The Trail Blazers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in five games, and then came back from a 3-2 deficit to beat the Denver Nuggets in seven games.

So who will win it all? Only time will tell. But one thing is for sure – it’s going to be an exciting postseason!
