The 2020 NBA Hall of Fame Inductees
On September 9th, 2020, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced that Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan would be inducted in the Hall of Fame. These three NBA legends were among the nine individuals and one team that were selected for the Class of 2020.
Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bean Bryant (born August 23, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. He played his entire 20-season career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Los Angeles Lakers. He entered the league directly from high school, and won five NBA championships with the Lakers. Bryant is an 18-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-Defensive team. He led the NBA in scoring during two seasons and ranks fourth on the league’s all-time regular season scoring and all-time postseason scoring lists.
Tim Duncan
Timothy Theodore Duncan (born April 25, 1976) is an American former professional basketball player. He spent his entire 19-year career with the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Duncan is widely considered to be one of the greatest power forwards of all time, as well as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He is a five-time NBA champion, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, a three-time NBA Finals MVP, and a 15-time NBA All-Star.
Duncan started out his Hall of Fame career by being drafted number one overall in the 1997 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. He quickly became one of the best players in the league, winning Rookie of the Year in 1998. Duncan went on to win five NBA championships with the Spurs (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014), while also being named MVP of the Finals twice (1999 and 2003). He was also named regular season MVP twice (2002 and 2003), and was named to 15 All-Star teams. In addition to his five championships and two Finals MVPs, Duncan also won two regular season MVPs, was a 15-time All-Star, and was named to 15 All-NBA teams.
Duncan retired in 2016 after 19 seasons with the Spurs. He is considered one of the greatest power forwards of all time, as well as one of the greatest players in NBA history.
Kevin Garnett
Kevin Garnett, who played 21 seasons in the NBA and is now a studio analyst for TNT’s coverage of the league, was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2020.
A 15-time All-Star and the league’s MVP in 2004, Garnett was a transformative figure in his two decades on the court. He helped lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to their first playoff appearance in 1997 and their first playoff series win in 2004. He won an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008.
Garnett is one of only four players in NBA history to amass at least 25,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, 5,000 assists, 1,500 steals and 1,500 blocks. The other three are Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and LeBron James.

The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced the finalists for the class of 2020, and it includes some of the biggest names in the sport. Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, and Tim Duncan are all first-time finalists, and they’re joined by Tamika Catchings and Kim Mulkey.
Chris Bosh
Chris Bosh was an American professional basketball player. He played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), twelve of them with the Miami Heat, with whom he won NBA championships in 2012 and 2013. A one-time All-Star and two-time NBA All-Star Game MVP, Bosh left Toronto as its all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks, and double doubles.
Bosh played collegiate basketball for Georgia Tech, where he was named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Year. He was taken fourth overall in the 2003 NBA draft by the Toronto Raptors. In 2010, he signed with Miami as a free agent. 2 years later Bosh helped lead Miami to their first NBA championship after defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-1 in the 2012 NBA Finals, earning him his second straight championship ring and his first Finals MVP award. The following season, Miami went on to beat the San Antonio Spurs in 7 games during the 2013 NBA Finals to win their second consecutive championship and Bosh’s third overall. Bosh made 11 trips to the NBA Playoffs throughout his 14 seasons.
On February 9th, 2016, Bosh failed his physical with the Heat due to a career-ending blood clotting condition that had caused him to miss most of the previous 2 seasons. As a result, he was waived by Miami on July 4th after not playing since February 2015, bringing an end to his time with the team. Bosh officially retired from professional basketball on November 25th, 2019 after not being able to find a new team willing to clear him medically due to his blood clotting condition
Paul Pierce
Paul Anthony Pierce (born October 13, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player who played 19 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Pierce was a high school McDonald’s All-American and earned first-team All-America honors in his junior year at Kansas. Pierce spent the first 15 years of his NBA career with the Boston Celtics, who drafted him with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 1998 NBA draft. During his time with the Celtics, he helped lead them to the NBA Finals in 2008 and 2010, winning his only NBA championship in 2008. He was named the 2008 NBA Finals MVP in recognition of his playoff performance that helped lead the Celtics to their record-setting seventeenth championship. Pierce also played for the Brooklyn Nets for one season before reverenceir ng for the Washington Wizards for three seasons. He announced his retirement from professional basketball on July 17, 2017.
Pierce is considered to be one of the best small forwards of his generation and is among Boston’s greatest players. He ranks third among Celtics all-time leaders in three-point field goals made (1,823), free throws made (6,434), games played (1,102), and steals (1,583). His tenability earned him the nickname “The Truth”.
Ben Wallace
Benjamin “Ben” Cameron Wallace (born September 10, 1974) is an American former professional basketball player. A native of Alabama, he played collegiately at Cuyahoga Community College and Virginia Union University. Not selected in the 1996 NBA draft, he began his professional career as a journeyman before joining the Detroit Pistons in 2000. He won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award four times, a record he shares with Dikembe Mutombo. In nine seasons with the Pistons, Wallace helped lead the team to six consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearances and the 2004 NBA championship.
In 2005, Wallace was traded to the Chicago Bulls and helped lead them to the playoffs in his only season with the team. He was signed by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2006 and traded back to Detroit after one season. He rejoined Chicago in 2009 and later rejoined Detroit for a second stint in 2012. After being released by Detroit in 2013, he joined the Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets), where he played two seasons before retiring in 2016 as a Piston. Ben Wallace was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2020 on September 18th.

Ray Allen
Raymond Douglas “Ray” Allen (born July 20, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. He played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as a player in 2018.
Allen began his basketball career as a high school player and went on to play college basketball at the University of Connecticut before being drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the fifth overall pick in the 1996 NBA draft. He was traded to the Seattle SuperSonics during his rookie season, where he helped lead them to their first-ever NBA championship in 1999. In 2002, he joined the Boston Celtics, with whom he played until he was traded back to the Sonics in 2007. He retired as a player after one season with the Heat in 2014.
One of the most accurate three-point and free throw shooters in NBA history, Allen averaged better than 20 points per game during his career and set an NBA record for three-pointers made in a season (269 in 2005–06). He also won an Olympic gold medal as a member of the 2000 United States men’s Olympic basketball team. Allen has acted in two films, one of which was Disney/Pixar’s Oscar-winning animated feature film Celtic Pride (1996).
Chauncey Billups
Billups played 17 seasons in the NBA, winning an NBA title with the Pistons in 2004 and being named Finals MVP. A five-time All-Star and nine-time All-NBA selection, Billups was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September 2020.
Chris Paul
The 2020 NBA Hall of Fame Nominees have been announced and Chris Paul is on the list!
Chris Paul is an American professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has been an eight-time NBA All-Star and nine-time All-NBA selection. He is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist, winning one each with the USA men’s national team in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
He was drafted fourth overall in the 2005 NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets, where he was named Rookie of the Year. He was traded to the Houston Rockets in 2012. In 2017, he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he helped lead them to the playoffs for seven consecutive seasons. He was traded back to the Rockets in 2020.
Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in NBA history and has had an incredible impact on the game. He is deserving of his spot on the 2020 NBA Hall of Fame Nominees list and we hope he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame soon!
