Kyler Murray- Arizona Cardinals

Kyler Murray was drafted first overall in the 2019 NFL draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He became the NFL Rookie of the Year in 2019. He is the first player in NFL history to be both the Rookie of the Year and the Offensive Player of the Year.

Kyler Murray was born on May 17, 1997, to Kevin Murray and Missy Parker. He has an older sister, Whitney Murray. Kyler’s father was a professional baseball player who spent 11 seasons in the majors, mostly with the Milwaukee Brewers. His mother was a softball player at the University of Texas. Kyler Murray grew up in Allen, Texas, where he played both baseball and football. He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the first round of the 2018 MLB draft but chose to play football instead, enrolling at Oklahoma.

In his first season as starting quarterback for the Sooners, Murray won the Heisman Trophy, becoming only the second player to ever win the award after also being drafted in the first round of the MLB draft. He decided to declare for the NFL draft after his junior year and was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the first overall pick. Kyler Murray’s NFL debut came in Week 1 of the 2019 season against the Detroit Lions. He went on to have a very successful rookie season, setting multiple franchise records and leading the Cardinals to their first playoff appearance since 2015. The NFL Rookie of the Year for 2022 is Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins. Tagovailoa was born in Hawaii and is of Samoan descent. He played college football at the University of Alabama, and was a two-time winner of the Heisman Trophy. Tagovailoa was drafted by the Dolphins with the fifth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Tua Tagovailoa is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama, and was drafted by the Dolphins fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Early life and high school

Tagovailoa was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Galu Tagovailoa and Diane Tagovailoa. He has an older sister named Tina. His parents are of Samoan descent. Growing up, Tagovailoa was a fan of Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. He attended Saint Louis School in Honolulu, where he played high school football under head coach Cal Lee. As a freshman in 2013, he started two games at cornerback before missing the rest of the season with a broken thumb. The following year, he became Saint Louis’s starting quarterback as a sophomore. In 2015, his junior year, Tagovailoa helped lead his team to an 11–1 record and the state championship game, where they lost to Punahou School. Tua Tagovailoa, the former Alabama star and Miami Dolphins quarterback, is the NFL’s Rookie of the Year for the 2022 season.

Tagovailoa, who took over as the Dolphins’ starter in Week 11, went on to lead Miami to a 10-6 record and a playoff berth. He threw for 2,916 yards and 26 touchdowns with just five interceptions in 13 games.

For his efforts, Tagovailoa was named second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press and was named to the Pro Bowl. He is also a finalist for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award.

Joe Burrow- Cincinnati Bengals

The 2020 NFL season is finally here, and with it comes a whole crop of new rookies ready to make their mark on the league. Among them is Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals. Burrow was the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and he’s already shown that he has the potential to be a great player in this league. Some are even calling him the Rookie of the Year for 2022. Let’s take a look at why Burrow is deserving of this title.

Joe Burrow played college football at Ohio State University, where he was a two-time consensus All-American and the winner of the 2018 Heisman Trophy. He was drafted first overall by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Burrow was born in Athens, Ohio, to Jimmy and Robin Burrow. He has two older brothers, Jamie and Dan. His father was a defensive coordinator at Ohio University from 1990 to 1995. His paternal grandfather, Rick Darby, played quarterback at Purdue University from 1957 to 1959. His maternal grandfather, Sonny Hinton, was an All-American football player at Furman University.

Joe Burrow was the number one pick for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Burrow played in 10 games, starting nine of them. He completed 216 of 385 passes for 2,688 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also rushed for another 202 yards and three touchdowns.

Justin Herbert- Los Angeles Chargers

Herbert was drafted 6th overall by the Chargers in the 2020 NFL Draft. He started his career with a stellar performance against the Bengals, passing for over 200 yards and a touchdown. Herbert would go on to lead the Chargers to a playoff berth, and was named the NFL Rookie of the Year.

Justin Herbert was born on March 10, 1998, in Eugene, Oregon. He is the son of Mark and Sheila Herbert. Justin has two older sisters, McKenna and Lindsey. Growing up, Justin Herbert was a big fan of the University of Oregon Ducks, and he would go on to attend the school from 2016-2019. As a Duck, Justin Herbert set many school records, including most career passing yards (10,541) and touchdown passes ( 95). He also led his team to the 2019 Pac-12 Championship game. After an impressive collegiate career, Justin Herbert was drafted 6th overall by the Los Angeles Chargers in the 2020 NFL Draft.

As a rookie in 2020, Justin Herbert started 11 games for the Chargers after veteran quarterback Philip Rivers left in free agency. In those 11 starts, Herbert completed 66% of his passes for 3,330 yards and 36 touchdowns with just 10 interceptions. He also ran for another 5 touchdowns. Herbert’s stellar play earned him NFL Rookie of the Year honors.

Jordan Love- Green Bay Packers

Jordan Love was the NFL Rookie of the Year for 2022. The Green Bay Packers selected Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Love was a four-year starter at quarterback for the Utah State Aggies. He was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and a senior.

Jordan Love was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. He played quarterback for Bakersfield Christian High School, where he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year as a senior. He then attended Utah State University, where he became one of the most decorated quarterbacks in school history. As a junior, he was named a consensus All-American and was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy. After declaring for the NFL Draft, he was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 26th overall pick.

Love completed 249 of 420 passes for 2,967 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns.
