Colin Kaepernick, a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, and Eric Reid, a current Carolina Panthers safety, are set to perform at the NFL Kickoff event on September 5th. The two have been outspoken critics of the NFL and its treatment of players, especially those who kneel during the national anthem to protest social injustice. Neither Kaepernick nor Reid have been signed to an NFL team since 2017.
When is the Performance
The NFL Kickoff game for the 2019 season will take place on Thursday, September 5th at 8:20pm EST. This year’s game will be hosted by the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The Carolina Panthers will be the away team.
This year’s NFL Kickoff Concert will feature headliner Maroon 5. The concert will take place on Wednesday, September 4th at 6:00pm CST at Grant Park in Chicago. Additional performers include Big Boi and Travis Scott.
What is the Performance
The NFL Kickoff game will feature a special performance by pop sensation Pink. The game, which will take place on September 6, 2018, will also feature a special halftime show by Justin Timberlake.
