The McMahon Family

The McMahon family is a wrestling dynasty. The patriarch of the family is Vince McMahon, who is the CEO, Chairman, and majority owner of WWE. His wife, Linda McMahon, is the current Administrator of the Small Business Administration. Their children, Shane and Stephanie, are both actively involved in WWE as well.

Vince McMahon

Vincent Kennedy McMahon (born August 24, 1945) is an American professional wrestling promoter and executive, American football executive, businessman, film producer, actor and sporadic professional wrestler. Since taking over the company from his father in the 1980s and successfully expanding the promotion’s global reach in the 1990s and 2000s, McMahon has been credited as the driving force behind the company’s rise to prominence within professional wrestling. McMahon has also occasionally competed as a professional wrestler using a gimmick known by the ring name Mr. McMahon, based on his real life persona.

He is a two-time world champion, having won the WWF Championship in 1999 and ECW World Championship in 2007. He has headlined multiple pay-per-view events for WWE, including WrestleMania – WWE’s flagship event, and closed out 2005’s WrestleMania 21 – then WM’s highest-grossing event ever – by winning a record setting Cage match against Hulk Hogan.

In addition to his corporate leadership role in WWE, McMahon has served as an on-screen authority figure most notably as the host of WWE Raw (1998–2009; 2011–2016) and as Fake Kazarian throughout 2012. He also occasionally appears as himself on Raw (most recently at RAW 1000).

Stephanie McMahon

Stephanie McMahon is the daughter of WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and his wife Linda McMahon. She is also the sister of Shane McMahon. Stephanie began working for WWE in her early twenties, and has since held a number of on-screen roles, including on-air authority figure, television personality, and occasional professional wrestler.

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon is an American businessman, professional wrestler, and occasional actor. He is currently the commissioner of WWE’s SmackDown brand. McMahon is a fourth-generation wrestling promoter as a member of the McMahon family, which has promoted professional wrestling since the early 20th century. He began working in WWE at age 15, starting as an announcer, but quickly moved into other roles such as ring crew and referee. He became CEO of WWE in 1998, but stepped down in 2009 to become its Chairman and Executive Producer.

The Anoa’i Family

The Rock

Dwayne Johnson, also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American actor, producer, and semi-retired professional wrestler. Born into the Anoa’i family, a prestigious wrestling dynasty, Johnson followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps when he entered the ring in 1996. He quickly made a name for himself in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now known as WWE. After emerging victorious from numerous high-profile matches, including two Royal Rumbles and several title bouts, The Rock was eventually crowned WWF Champion in 1999. He held that title until 2002, when he left WWE to focus on his burgeoning acting career.

Yokozuna

Yokozuna was a stainless steel band that was founded in 1992. The band was composed of lead singer and guitarist John Wetton, keyboardist Geoff Downes, drummer Carl Palmer, and bassist/singer Billy Sherwood. The band’s sound was a mix of progressive rock, pop, and metal. Yokozuna released three studio albums between 1992 and 1995, before disbanding in 1996.

Rikishi

Rikishi, whose real name is Solofa Fatu Jr., is a retired professional wrestler who is part of the Anoa’i family. He is the younger brother of The Usos, and the Uncle of Roman Reigns, Rosey, and Yokozuna. Rikishi is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, a two-time WWE Tag Team Champion, and a one-time World Tag Team Champion.

The Hennig Family

The Hennig family is a well-known wrestling family. Curt Hennig is a former WWE Champion, and his son, Joe, is currently a wrestler in NXT. But the Hennig family isn’t just limited to wrestlers. Let’s take a look at some of the other members of the family.

Mr. Perfect

Curt Hennig, better known to WWE fans as “Mr. Perfect,” was one of the most successful and popular Superstars in WWE history. A former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion, Hennig was known for his impeccable in-ring ability and charismatic persona.

The son of WWE Hall of Famer Larry “The Ax” Hennig, Curt followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the family business. After honing his skills on the independent circuit, Hennig made his WWE debut in 1984. He quickly rose through the ranks, winning the Intercontinental Championship from The Honky Tonk Man in 1988. He held the title for a then-record 64 weeks before losing it to The Ultimate Warrior.

Hennig would go on to have multiple runs with the Intercontinental Championship, as well as with the Tag Team titles (with Tito Santana and Rick Rude). In 1999, he returned to WWE after a stint in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and won the Hardcore Championship. He held that title for over two months before losing it to Big Boss Man.

Hennig was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. He passed away tragically in 2003 at the age of 44.

Curtis Axel

Curtis Axel is a third generation Superstar whose grandfather, Curt Hennig, and father, “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig, both wrestled in WWE. He made his WWE debut in 2010 as part of The Nexus and has since held the Intercontinental Championship and Tag Team Championship.

Brock Lesnar

Brock Edward Lesnar (/ˈlɛznər/; born July 12, 1977) is an American professional wrestler, mixed martial artist, and former amateur wrestler, who is currently signed with WWE. He is a two-time NCAA Heavyweight Champion and a former UFC Heavyweight Champion. After his successful amateur wrestling career at Bismarck State College and the University of Minnesota, Lesnar signed with WWE (then the World Wrestling Federation) in 2000. He was assigned to its developmental promotion Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he was a three-time OVW Southern Tag Team Champion with Shelton Benjamin. After debuting on WWE’s main roster in 2002, Lesnar won the WWE Championship on three separate occasions within his first five years with the company, becoming only the second man (after Hulk Hogan) to achieve that feat.
