Who Is the 2021 NFL MVP?

The 2021 NFL MVP race is heating up and there are a few front runners. Who do you think will take home the hardware this year?

Tom Brady

Most people would say that the favorite for the 2021 NFL MVP award is Tom Brady. He has had an incredible season, leading the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl appearance in 18 years. He has thrown for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns, with only 12 interceptions. He has also rushed for four touchdowns. Brady is definitely one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, and he is certainly deserving of the MVP award.

Russell Wilson

Wilson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL since he was drafted in 2012. In 2020, he had an amazing season, leading the Seattle Seahawks to a 12-4 record and a playoff berth. He threw for 4,212 yards and 42 touchdowns, both career highs. He also ran for 513 yards and three touchdowns. Wilson was named the NFL’s MVP in 2020.

Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers is having another MVP-caliber season in 2020. Through 12 games, he has thrown for 3,835 yards and 36 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He also has a quarterback rating of 121.5, which is the best in the NFL. Rodgers has led the Packers to a 10-3 record and they are currently in first place in the NFC North. If he can lead them to a division title and a deep run in the playoffs, he will have a strong case for winning MVP.

Josh Allen

Josh Allen is an American football quarterback for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Wyoming, and was drafted by the Bills seventh overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. In his second season with the Bills in 2019, Allen helped lead the Bills to their first 10-win season since 1999 and second playoff berth in three years, while also leading the league in rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He was named to his first Pro Bowl.

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Lavon Mahomes II (born September 17, 1995) is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He is the second child of Pat Mahomes, a former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher. He initially played college football and college baseball at Texas Tech University. Following his sophomore year, he quit baseball to focus solely on football. In his junior year, he led all NCAA Division I FBS players in multiple passing statistical categories. After graduating from high school, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers with the 34th overall pick in the 2014 MLB draft. However, he did not sign with them, opting to attend Texas Tech to play college football.

In his first year starting as a quarterback for the Red Raiders in 2015, he broke numerous NCAA FBS records and helped his team win the inaugural College Football Playoff game that year. After a breakout season in 2016 where he threw for over 5,000 yards and 41 touchdowns en route to being named a first-team All-American by The Sporting News among other honors, Mahomes decided to forgo his senior season and declare for the 2017 NFL Draft. He was drafted 10th overall by the Chiefs and became their starting quarterback in 2018. In 2019, Mahomes led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1970 as well as their first league championship since 1969, winning Super Bowl LIV after defeating the San Francisco 49ers 31–20; he was named Super Bowl MVP for his performance In 2020 during Week 5 against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football, Mahomes suffered a knee dislocation but returned later in overtime to throw a touchdown pass that ultimately helped seal a 40–32 comeback victory for Kansas City; this made him just one of three quarterbacks ever (joining Steve Bono and Jeff Garcia) to win consecutive starts after trailing by double digits at halftime and being down by double digits going into fourth quarter according to NFL Next Gen Stats research analysis. For his career accomplishments going into just his age-25 season in 2020 such as becoming one of only five quarterbacks ever with 60 regular season wins including playoffs (joining Brady, Brees Drew Brees , Peyton Manning , and Rodgers), leading multiple 4th quarter/OT comebacks (8), 10 game-winning drives (including playoffs), recording two seasons with 5+ passing TDs & 0 INTs (2018 & 2020), 6 Pro Bowls nods (2018-present), 2x NFL passing TDs leader (2018 & 2020), 2x NFL regular season MVP (2018 & 2020), being named Sporting News 2018 Sportsman of the Year , being named 2019 AP Male Athlete of The Year , leading Kansas City to back-to-back AFC Championships en route to winning Super Bowl LIV , etc., many experts have said that Patrick Mahomes has already cemented himself as one of if not already THE Greatest Of All Time(G.O.A.T.) when it comes to NFL quarterbacks even though he’s still early into just his 4th NFL season going into 2021 while some others have even said that Patrick Mahomes has transcended football itself which is very high praise given how popular and important football is in America especially when compared to other sports leagues such as MLB , NBA , NHL , etc..
