Jerry Lee Rice (born October 13, 1962) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played his entire 20-year career with the San Francisco 49ers. He is widely considered to be the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, and by many commentators and retired players, as the greatest player in NFL history.
During his career, Rice caught 1,549 passes for 22,895 yards (14.7 yards per reception), 197 touchdowns, and was voted to 13 Pro Bowls. He holds nearly every significant receiving record: he is ranked first all time in most receptions, touchdown receptions, receiving yards and all-purpose yards;
second in single-season reception yardage (1,848), third in single-season receptions (122); fourth in Career All Purpose Yards with 23,546; fifth (tied with Marvin Harrison) in career touchdown catches with 208; and sixth in career receiving yards with 22,895. Emmitt Smith was born on May 15, 1969 in Pensacola, Florida. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 1990 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida. Smith went on to have an illustrious career with the Cowboys, winning three Super Bowls and becoming the NFL’s all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
