DeMarcus Ware is a former American football defensive end who played in the National Football League (NFL) for fourteen seasons. He played college football at Troy, where he was recognized as a three-time All-Sun Belt Conference selection. He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys with the 11th pick in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft, and spent his entire career with the Cowboys. Upon joining the Cowboys, Ware immediately became a starter and eventually emerged as one of their best defensive players. During his career, he was selected to nine Pro Bowls, including eight consecutive seasons from 2006 to 2013, and was a first-team All-Pro selection four times. He led the league in sacks twice, recording 20 in 2008 and 19 in 2009. In his career, he recorded 138.5 quarterback sacks, which ranks sixth all time as of 2019 while his 156 tackles for loss are the fourth most since they became an official statistic in 1999.
