Who Is The Best 3 Point Shooter In The Nba?
We take a look at the best 3 point shooters in the NBA and see who has been the most consistent over the years.
Steph Curry
In my opinion, Steph Curry is the best three point shooter in the NBA. He has proved time and time again that he can hit threes from anywhere on the court. Not to mention, he is a two-time MVP and a three-time NBA champion.
Three-point shooting percentage
In the 2016–17 season, Curry again led the league in three-point shooting, setting an NBA record with a 45.4% success rate from beyond the arc. He became the first player in NBA history to make 300 three-pointers in a season, en route to shattering his own previous league record of 286 set in 2012–13. Curry was voted unanimously to his second All-Star Game, and was named one of the two starting guards for the Western Conference squad. He was also selected as a starter for the All-NBA First Team for the second consecutive year. In May 2017, he was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for a second time after averaging 25.3 points, 6.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game during the regular season
Three-pointers made per game
Steph Curry is the best three point shooter in the NBA with an average of 3.5 three-pointers made per game. Curry has made a total of 1,258 three-pointers in his career, which is the most in NBA history.
Free throw percentage
Curry is often lauded for his shooting, and rightfully so: He’s the best three-point shooter in NBA history. But what’s often overlooked is his free throws. Curry is a career 90.5 percent shooter from the charity stripe, which is good for sixth all time. And he’s not just a good free-throw shooter; he’s an elite one. There have been only 23 seasons in NBA history in which a player has shot 90 percent or better from the line while playing at least 400 minutes, and Curry has done it three times. Among players with at least 1,000 career free-throw attempts, only five have a better percentage than Curry: Jerry West, Steve Nash, Mark Price, Reggie Miller and Jose Calderon.
Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson is one of the best shooters in the NBA, and he proved it once again this season. Thompson finished the season averaging 22.1 points per game, and he shot an impressive 41.5 percent from three-point range. Not only is he a great scorer, but he is also a great defender.
Three-point shooting percentage
Throughout his NBA career, Klay Thompson has been considered one of the best three-point shooters in the league. In fact, he currently ranks sixth all-time in three-point shooting percentage, with a career average of 41.9%.
This season, Thompson is averaging 22.5 points per game while shooting an impressive 47.5% from beyond the arc. His long-range shooting ability has been a big part of the Golden State Warriors’ success over the past few years, and it’s one of the reasons they are once again among the favorites to win the NBA championship.
Three-pointers made per game
In the 2014–15 season, Thompson averaged a career-high 21.7 points per game, to go with 3.2 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.1 steals in 34.8 minutes per game. He shot 45.4% from the field, 44.0% from three-point range (second in the NBA), and 84.5% from the free throw line (sixth in the NBA). He became the first player in NBA history to make at least 200 three-pointers while shooting over 40% from three-point range and 80% from the free throw line in a single season.

Klay Thompson is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, he played college basketball for three seasons with the Washington State Cougars, where he was a two-time first-team all-conference selection in the Pac-10. He was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft by the Warriors with the 11th overall pick, and helped the team win an NBA championship in his rookie season.
In 2014–15, Thompson signed a four-year, $70 million contract extension with the Warriors. He went on to win an NBA championship in each of his first four seasons with Golden State, becoming one of nine players to win four championships in their first four seasons. In 2015–16, he set an NBA record with 276 three-pointers made in a season. The following year, he helped lead the Warriors to an NBA-record 73 regular season wins as well as another Finals appearance. In early 2019, he suffered a torn ACL during a game against the Los Angeles Lakers; however, he recovered in time to win another championship later that year when the Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors in six games during the 2019 NBA Finals.
Kyle Korver
In the NBA, there are a lot of great three-point shooters. However, one player that stands out above the rest is Kyle Korver. Korver is currently a member of the Utah Jazz, and he has been one of the best three-point shooters in the league for many years.
Three-point shooting percentage
In the National Basketball Association (NBA), the three-point field goal is a shot made from beyond the three-point line, a designated arc surrounding the basket. A successful attempt is worth three points, in contrast to the two points awarded for shots made within the three-point line and the one point for each made free throw.
The statistic three-point field goal percentage measures the percentage of three-point field goals that a player makes. The league average in any given season has varied between 28% and 36%.
Kyle Korver, who plays for the Utah Jazz, is widely considered to be one of the best shooters in NBA history. In the 2010–11 season, he set an NBA record by shooting 53.6% from beyond the arc.

As a player who spends most of his time on the perimeter, Korver’s free throw percentage is among the highest of all three-point shooters in the NBA. In the NBA, three-point shooting percentage is the percentage of three-point field goals made out of the total three-point field goals attempted by a player.
The statistic was first recognized in the 1979–80 season when the NBA adopted the three-point line.Since then, players who have led the league in three-point shooting percentage have included some of the greatest shooters in NBA history, such as Steve Kerr, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen and Stephen Curry.
In recent years, three-point shooting has become increasingly important in the modern NBA game; several recent league MVPs (such as Stephen Curry and James Harden) have been leading scorers who have shot a high percentage from three-point range. As a result, players who are particularly skilled at shooting threes have seen their values increase exponentially.
The NBA’s all-time leader in three-point shooting percentage is Steve Kerr, who made 45.4% of his three-pointers over his 15-year career. Other notable players near the top of the list include Reggie Miller (41.7%),Ray Allen (40.4%),Stephen Curry (43.5%), and Jason Terry (40.2%).
