The organization was founded on May 30th, 2010, by FaZe house owner and YouTube personality FaZe Banks and co-owner Eric ‘TwoEasy’ Van Long. FaZe Clan originally started as a gaming clan on YouTube focused around the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The organisation was founded in April 2016 by former Call of Duty world champion and YouTube personality, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag. 100 Thieves has teams competing in Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite Battle Royale, League of Legends and VALORANT.

The organisation made its first foray into competitive gaming with the acquisition of Counter Logic Gaming’s Call of Duty team ahead of the 2017 CWL season. The team went on to win several tournaments throughout the year, including the CWL Anaheim Open and the CWL Seattle Open.

In 2018, 100 Thieves signed a League of Legends roster and made their debut in the North American League of Legends Championship Series (NA LCS). The team had a strong showing in their first split, finishing in 4th place with a 12-6 record.

The following year, 100 Thieves expanded their operations into Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with the signing of an all-female roster. The team had success early on, winning the ESEA MDL Global Challenge and qualifying for their first offline tournament, IEM Katowice 2019.

In 2020, 100 Thieves entered into VALORANT with the signing of former CS:GO professional Spencer “Hiko” Martin as captain of their inaugural roster.
