Antetokounmpo was born in Athens, Greece, to Nigerian parents who had emigrated to Greece in 1991 in search of a better life. He began playing organized basketball at age 13, and rose to prominence in Greek amateur clubs before being drafted 15th overall by the Bucks in the 2013 NBA draft.

Antetokounmpo has continued to improve throughout his career; on December 22nd, 2020, he was named Eastern Conference Player of The Month for setting career highs with 31.8 points per game and 11 rebounds per game while shooting 57% from three-point range during November 2020. He is currently considered one of the best players in the NBA today.
