We all have our favorite NFL quarterbacks, but who is the best of all time? Let’s take a look at the stats and see who comes out on top.
Tom Brady
In his twenty years in the NFL, Tom Brady has played in nine Super Bowls, winning seven of them. He is the only player to have won five Super Bowls as a starting quarterback, and he has also been named Super Bowl MVP four times. Brady is also a three-time NFL MVP and a fourteen-time Pro Bowler. There is no doubt that Tom Brady is the best quarterback of all time.

Peyton Manning
His stats
Peyton Manning is a retired American football quarterback who played 18 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He spent 14 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and was a member of the Denver Broncos in his last four seasons. Considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Manning played college football for the University of Tennessee, leading the Tennessee Volunteers to the 1997 SEC Championship in his senior season. He was selected by the Colts as the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft and became the franchise’s starting quarterback in his rookie season.
His championships
In 2006, the Colts went 12–4 and defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC playoffs. They then won the AFC Championship Game against the New England Patriots, 38–34, earning a berths to Super Bowl XLI, their first Super Bowl appearance since 1970. In the Super Bowl, Manning was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after completing 25 of 38 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown, with one interception, as the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29–17.
In 2009, Manning and the Colts began their season by defeating the Minnesota Vikings in NFL Kickoff Live 2009, which made him only one of four quarterbacks to win a Super Bowl and an NFL Kickoff game. The Colts finished their season 14–2 and defeated both the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets in the AFC playoffs. In doing so, Manning became only one of three quarterbacks with multiple 14-win seasons in NFL history. They advanced to meet their rival Tom Brady and his New England Patriots team in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game—a much-anticipated rematch of their previous championship game meeting four years earlier—and won for a trip to Super Bowl XLIV.
In Super Bowl XLIV on February 7, 2010 (Manning’s 33rd birthday), Manning led his team to victory over Drew Brees’ New Orleans Saints 31–17 by completing 31 of 45 passes for 333 yards and one touchdown, with one interception. Consequently, he became only second quarterback ever to win a Super Bowl on his birthday (the other being Craig Morton). He also became only fourth quarterback with multiple Super Bowl wins as well as being voted MVP on both occasions after Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw and Tom Brady
His awards
Peyton Manning holds the NFL record for most MVP awards with five. He is tied with Brett Favre and Tom Brady for the most regular season MVP awards with three apiece. He has also been named to the Pro Bowl thirteen times and was the game’s MVP in 2006. He is one of only two quarterbacks to have won a Super Bowl MVP and an NFL MVP award in the same year (2004). In 2009, he was named the best player in the NFL by NFL Network’s The Top 100: Players of All-Time
Drew Brees
In my opinion, Drew Brees is the best NFL quarterback of all time. He has led the New Orleans Saints to a Super Bowl victory and has broken numerous NFL records. He is a very accurate passer and has a great arm. He is also a very smart player and makes good decisions on the field.
His stats
In his 15 NFL seasons, Brees has completed 7,142 of 10,651 passes (67.3 percent) for 81,358 yards (7.7 yards per attempt), 547 touchdowns and 213 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 1,283 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Brees owns every major passing record in Saints history, as well as several NFL records, including:
-Most career passing yards: 80,358
-Most career completions: 7,142
-Highest career completion percentage: 67.3
-Most career passing touchdowns: 547
-Most consecutive seasons with 4,000+ passing yards: 15
-Most consecutive seasons with 25+ passing touchdowns: 15
His championships
Drew Brees has only won one Super Bowl, but he’s been to the big game five times. He’s also won a slew of other championships, including two NFC Championship titles and nine division titles.
His awards
Brees has been elected to thirteen Pro Bowls, was the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year in 2008 and 2011, and was named Super Bowl MVP in 2010 after leading the Saints to a 31–17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV, earning him his first ring. He has led the NFL in passing yards a record eleven times and passing touchdowns a record eight times. He appeared in ten consecutive Pro Bowls from 2005 to 2014, which is the second-longest streak by an NFL player.
