Richard Sherman

Richard Sherman is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has been selected for the Pro Bowl four times, Sherman led the league in interceptions in 2013, and was a key player on the Seahawks’ Legion of Boom defense, helping the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII.

College career

Sherman played college football for the Stanford Cardinal from 2006 to 2010. As a member of the Cardinal, he helped lead the team to a 12–1 record and an appearance in the BCS game in his senior year. He was named a first-team All-Pac-10 player in both his junior and senior years.[16][17] He finished his career with 163 tackles, 24 passes defended and 8 interceptions.

NFL career

Sherman was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has since been selected to the Pro Bowl five times, named to four First-team All-Pro rosters, and led the league in interceptions twice. He is also a two-time Super Bowl champion, winning both Super Bowl XLVIII and Super Bowl LIV with the Seahawks. In 2013, he helped lead Seattle to their first ever Super Bowl victory, and was also named that year’s AP Defensive Player of the Year.

College career

Aqib Talib attended the University of Kansas, where he played college football for the Jayhawks. As a freshman in 2005, he started all 12 games and had 46 tackles and six interceptions. He was named a first-team freshman All-American by College Football News and was also named to the Big 12 All-Freshman team. As a sophomore in 2006, he started all 13 games and had 70 tackles and four interceptions. As a junior in 2007, he started all 13 games and had 61 tackles, two forced fumbles, one interception and eight pass breakups.

Aqib Talib (born February 13, 1986) is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent. He played college football at the University of Kansas, where he received unanimous All-American honors. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Talib has also played for the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos.

Talib was born in Cleveland, Ohio, where he attended Liberty University High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He played quarterback and defensive back for the Liberty Flames high school football team. As a senior in 2003, he was named the Eastern District Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-district at quarterback after completing 73 of 132 passes for 1,342 yards and 13 touchdowns. He was also named second-team all-state as a defensive back after recording 58 tackles and eight interceptions.

Marcus Peters

Marcus Peters is a cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Washington.

College career

Marcus Peters played college football at the University of Washington from 2011 to 2014. He was redshirted his first year. As a redshirt freshman, he was named the Huskies’ most improved player on defense. Peters had 58 tackles and five interceptions in 2012, which was second in the nation among freshmen. He was named to the Freshman All-American team by College Football News and was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection. Peters had 41 tackles, three interceptions, and three forced fumbles in 2013. He was again named an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection. In 2014, Peters had 46 tackles, five interceptions (tied for second in the nation), and two forced fumbles (tied for fourth in the nation). He was named a first team All-Pac-12 selection and was a semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

NFL career

Peters was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round (18th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Peters was the third cornerback drafted in 2015, behind Trae Waynes (11th overall, to the Minnesota Vikings) and Kevin Johnson (16th overall, to the Houston Texans).

On May 18, 2015, the Kansas City Chiefs officially signed Peters to a four-year, $9.58 million rookie contract that includes $7.38 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $4.91 million.

As a rookie in 2015, Peters started all 16 games for the Chiefs and recorded 60 combined tackles (55 solo), eight interceptions, one touchdown, and 22 pass deflections. He received an overall grade of 87.0 from Pro Football Focus in 2015 and ranked as the seventh highest graded cornerback out of 118 qualifying players. He was also named to the NFL All-Rookie team by multiple outlets at the end of his rookie season in 2015. His eight interceptions led all rookies and all NFL defenders in 2015. He became just the sixth player since 1950 to achieve that feat as a rookie and was one of only three cornerbacks ever to do so, joining Everson Walls (1981) and Mike Haynes (1976).

Xavier Rhodes is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida State University.

College career

Rhodes played college football at Florida State University from 2009 to 2012. He was a four-year starter and helped lead the Seminoles to an ACC Championship and a BCS National Championship in his junior year. Rhodes was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press in his senior year.

Rhodes was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and was named a First-team All-Pro in 2017.

Verrett played college football at TCU, where he was a two-time All-American Cornerback. He was also a member of the Horned Frogs’ track team. As a junior in 2012, he was a consensus first-team All-American after he had 50 tackles, six interceptions (second in the nation), and two forced fumbles. He was also named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy. As a senior in 2013, he was again a consensus first-team All-American after recording 42 tackles and two interceptions.

He played college football at TCU, where he was recognized as a consensus All-American. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Verrett attended Central High School in Fairfield, California, where he played for the Central Falcons high school football team. As a senior on the Falcons’ varsity team, he had 61 tackles and two interceptions on defense and amassed 1,035 all-purpose yards with 11 touchdowns on offense.
