The National Football League’s Most Valuable Player Award is one of the most prestigious individual honors in all of American sports. Given to the player who is considered to have been the most important to his team’s success during the regular season, the award has been handed out annually since 1957.

With five Lombardi Trophies already on his mantle, Tom Brady can lay claim to being the greatest quarterback in NFL history. Only Bill Belichick has more Super Bowl wins as a head coach than Brady, who has quarterbacked the New England Patriots to nine appearances in the Big Game.
A three-time NFL MVP and 14-time Pro Bowler, Brady has led the Patriots to an NFL-record 17 divisional titles in his 18 seasons with the team. He holds numerous NFL passing records, including most regular-season yards (79,204), touchdowns (563) and completions (7,345).

Aaron Rodgers is the current NFL MVP and also the current quarterback for the Green Bay Packers. He was born on December 2, 1983 in Chico, California. Rodgers played college football at the University of California, Berkeley. He was drafted by the Packers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

This year’s NFL MVP is New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. Brees had an incredible season, setting the single-season record for passing yards with 5,476. He also threw for a league-leading 46 touchdowns.

He left college as one of the most decorated players in Purdue and Big Ten Conference history, holding statistical records for touchdowns, passing yards, total offensive yards, and completions. As of 2018, he remains the Big Ten record-holder in several passing categories.
