Vince Carter
At 42 years old, Vince Carter is currently the oldest player in the NBA. Unfortunately for him, he is also the only player in the league who was born in the 1970s. Carter was drafted fifth overall by the Golden State Warriors in 1998 after a stellar college career at North Carolina, where he was part of the “Three J’s” alongside Jerry Stackhouse and Antawn Jamison. He was immediately traded to the Toronto Raptors, with whom he would spend his first six seasons.
In his 21 years in the NBA, Carter has played for eight different teams: the Raptors, Nets, Magic, Suns, Mavericks, Grizzlies, Hawks and Pelicans. He finally won his first and only championship last year with the latter two teams, serving as a key bench player during their playoff run.
