WWE Championship
The WWE Championship is a world heavyweight championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, currently defended on their Raw brand. It is one of the two world titles in WWE, alongside the WWE Universal Championship that is defended on their SmackDown brand. The current champion is Drew McIntyre, who is in his second reign.
WWE United States Championship
The WWE United States Championship is a professional wrestling championship promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of two secondary titles for the Raw brand, along with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown. The current champion is AJ Styles, who is in his second reign.
The United States Championship was originally established by WWE’s predecessor promotion, World Championship Wrestling (WCW), in 1975 as a secondary title to the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP) (which ran under various names but ultimately returned to the “World Championship Wrestling” name in 1988) acquired WCW in January 1988 and subsequently rebranded its entire programming except for Saturday Night and WorldWide, which became exclusive to its syndicated broadcast network, TBS. The title then became exclusive to that respective brand until 2001 when it debuted on SmackDown!. In 2002, it was unified with the Intercontinental Championship as a result of that year’s Brand Extension; later that year, it became exclusive to Raw and was vacant for a period of eight months until Shane McMahon defeated Rob Van Dam at WrestleMania XIX to become the inaugural champion. It became exclusive to SmackDown! once again in 2005 as a result of another Brand Extension before switching brands yet again in July 2016 because of yet another Brand Extension; it has remained on Raw since then.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
The WWE Intercontinental Championship is a professional wrestling championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the SmackDown brand. It is one of two secondary titles in the WWE, along with the United States Championship on Raw.
The current champion is Big E, who is in his first reign. He won the title by defeating Apollo Crews at Payback on August 30, 2020.
WWE Tag Team Championship
The WWE Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling world tag team championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE, defended on their Raw, SmackDown, and live event programs.
The current champions are The Miz and John Morrison, who are in their first reign as a team. They won the championship by defeating The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) at Extreme Rules on July 19, 2020.
The title was introduced as the WWE World Tag Team Championship on October 20, 2002, a name that lasted until August 16, 2010. It was subsequently renamed the WWE Tag Team Championship until October 11, 2014; then it was reverted back to the World Tag Team Championship until it was finally renamed to its current name in September 2016.
As a result of the 2016 brand extension, which established Raw and SmackDown as separate brands, the championship became exclusive to Raw with a separate SmackDown Tag Team Championship also being introduced.
WWE Women’s Championship
The WWE Women’s Championship is a professional wrestling world championship created by the American promotion WWE. It is contested exclusively among female wrestlers. The inaugural champion was crowned on October 17, 1999, when Ivory defeated Tori in the finals of a tournament. The current champion is Charlotte Flair, who is in her second reign.
The title was made exclusive to the Raw brand following the 2016 WWE draft, but it has since been shared between Raw and SmackDown after the 2019 draft.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
The WWE Cruiserweight Championship is a professional wrestling world championship created and promoted by the American professional wrestling promotion WWE on the Raw brand. It is one of two world titles for WWE’s cruiserweight division, along with the NXT Cruiserweight Championship on the
NXT brand. The title was established as the original WCW Cruiserweight Championship on March 26, 1991, making it one of the oldest championships still active in professional wrestling. The inaugural champion was Pancho González.
In September 2007, WWE retired the WCW Cruiserweight Championship after then-champion Hornswoggle lost to Djordje Ilic in a “Loser Leaves WWE” match. Six days later on SmackDown!, Hornswoggle was awarded the new WWE Cruiserweight Championship, which he held until May 2008 when he was stripped of the title due to injuries. The title remained inactive until December 2016 when it was brought back as part of the cruiserweight tournament to crown a new champion at that year’s Survivor Series event; TheBrian Kendrick became inaugural champion. Overall, there have been twenty-six different champions, with Brian Kendrick being closest to setting the record for most combined days as champion at 455. His second reign is also currently tied with Neville for longest individual reign at 205 days each. Drew Gulak has had two separate runs as champion for a combined total of thirteen days (the shortest reign of any two-time champion), which is an inactive record for overall combined days as champion among two-time champions. Tajiri had the shortest individual reign at seven days but his first run is not recognized due to it taking place during the championship’s inactive period from October 2007 until December 2016.
