The inaugural champion was crowned at SummerSlam on August 28, 2016, when Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match. Banks held the title for 113 days, before losing it to Lynch at Hell in a Cell on October 30, 2016. Lynch became inaugural champion. The second champion was Flair, who defeated Lynch and Banks in a triple threat match at Roadblock: End of the Line on December 18, 2016 to win her first title under her “The Queen” moniker. The third champion was Alexa Bliss, who won a fatal four-way match at WrestleMania 33 to become champion on April 2, 2017. The fourth champion was Nia Jax, who pinned Bliss at Payback on April 30 to win her first title.
Jax held the title for 56 days before being dethroned by Ronda Rousey at Money in the Bank on June 17, 2018; becoming Rousey’s first championship victory in WWE. Bliss regained the title from Rousey at Hell in a Cell on September 16 after cashing-in her Money in the Bank contract; thus making her a two-time champion. At Evolution—WWE’s first all-women’s pay-per-view event—on October 28, 2018; Flair defeated Lynch and Banks in a triple threat match to become a three-time champion;setting the record for most reigns with three (which would be tied with Jax eleven days later). At Survivor Series on November 18; Jax (as part of Team Raw) defeated Lynch (as part of Team SmackDown) via disqualification after an attack from Dean Ambrose (who had interfered as part of Team SmackDown), resulting in Jax retaining her title while Lynch survived as sole survivor for Team SmackDown; meaning that she could challenge for any brand’s women’s championship.[citation needed] On December 16; it was announced that Lynch would get her rematch against Jax at TLC: Tables Ladders & Chairs event scheduled for December 16 where she eventually pinned Jax to win back the title while setting another record as being the longest reigning champion with 192 days which would then be broken by Rousey herself eleven days later.[citation needed]
At WrestleMania 35, Rousey defeated both Lynch and Flair to become undefeated WWE Raw Women’s Champion and break Lynch’s previous record as longest reigning champion with 205 days.[citation needed]

The inaugural champion was crowned at WWE Evolution on October 28, 2018, when Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte Flair and Raw General Manager Stephanie McMahon in a triple threat match to become the inaugural champion. The title was then vacated on the November 5, 2018 episode of Raw due to Lynch being sidelined with a broken nose and severe concussion suffered during her match with Flair at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event two days earlier. At TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs later that month, Alexa Bliss defeated Mickie James to become the second champion. Bliss’ first reign is recognized as the longest in the title’s history at bliss won the title for a record second time at Hell in a Cell on October 6, 2019, defeating Sasha Banks and became a five-time women’s champion in WWE overall. Banks regained the title three weeks later at Crown Jewel.
At The Horror Show at Extreme Rules, Bayley defeated Banks in a stingers cage match to win her second Raw Women’s Championship and Banks’ third reign ended abruptly due to an injury storyline. On August 23 at SummerSlam, Asuka defeated Bayley to win her first Raw Women’s Championship and Bayley’s second reign ended at 51 days. At Payback on September 27, Zelina Vega cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to defeat Asuka and win her first Raw Women’s Championship; however she only held it for less than 24 hours as Asuka regained it the following night on Raw. This made Asuka a two-time champion and Vega’s lone reign as champion lasted less than 24 hours before she was defeated by Asuka during that night’s episode of RAW making this one of shortest championship reigns ever
On November 25 at Survivor Series 2020 Rhea Ripley defeated reigning NXT Champion Charlotte Flair after cashing in her newly won NXT Women’s Title match contract (given to her after defeating Io Shirai earlier that night) making her only he second woman ever to hold both titles simultaneously as well as becoming only NXT UK woman ever to hold both titles simultaneously . This made Ripley a three time champion (one NXT UK one NXT one RAW)and Flair a ten time champions (four-time Divas Champion , four-time WWE Women’s Champion , two-timeRAW Women’s Champion).
