Kobe Bean Bryant (born August 23, 1978) is an American professional basketball player. He plays shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bryant entered the NBA directly from high school, and has played for the Lakers his entire 20-year career. He is a 17-time All-Star, 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-Defensive team. He led the NBA in scoring during two seasons, and ranks third on both the league’s all-time regular season scoring and all-time postseason scoring lists. Shaquille O’Neal

Shaquille O’Neal, nicknamed Shaq, is an American retired professional basketball player who is currently an analyst on the television program Inside the NBA. He is widely considered one of the greatest players in NBA history. At 7 ft 1 in (2.16 m) tall and 325 pounds (147 kg), he was one of the tallest and heaviest players ever. O’Neal played for six teams throughout his 19-year NBA career.

Tim Duncan

One of the most well-known and successful players in the NBA, Tim Duncan spent his entire career with the San Antonio Spurs. He was drafted in 1997 and quickly became one of the best players in the league. He was a part of five NBA championship teams and was named the NBA Finals MVP twice. He was also a 15-time All-Star and was named the NBA’s MVP in 2002. He retired in 2016 after 19 seasons with the Spurs.

David Robinson

David Robinson is one of the most well-renowned players in San Antonio Spurs history. He was drafted by the Spurs in 1987 and played his entire professional career with the team. He is a two-time NBA champion, 10-time NBA All-Star, and the NBA’s Rookie of the Year in 1990. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Michael Jordan

Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials MJ, is an American former professional basketball player and the principal owner of the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played 15 seasons in the NBA, winning six championships with the Chicago Bulls. His biography on the official NBA website states: “By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time.” He was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was considered instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s.

Jordan played three seasons for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina. As a freshman, he was a member of the Tar Heels’ national championship team in 1982. Jordan joined the Bulls in 1984 as the third overall draft pick. He quickly emerged as a league star, entertaining crowds with his prolific scoring. His leaping ability, demonstrated by performing slam dunks from freethrow line in Slam Dunk Contests, earned him nicknames such as “Air Jordan” and “His Airness”. He also gained a reputation for being one of the best defensive players in basketball. In 1991, he won his first NBA championship with the Bulls, and followed that achievement with titles in 1992 and 1993, securing a “three-peat”. Although Jordan abruptly retired from basketball before the beginning of the 1993–94 NBA season to pursue a career in baseball, he rejoined the Bulls in 1995 and led them to three additional championships in 1996, 1997, and 1998. Jordan retired for a second time after winning his sixth NBA championship with just over two seconds remaining against jazz guard Bryon Russell to give Chicago its second three peat.

In 1996, Jordan became part-owner and head of basketball operations for the then-Charlotte Hornets (now Charlotte Bobcats), buying a minority stake owned by longtime friend Edward Wachter.[48] In 2003–04 under new head coach Bernie Bickerstaff,[49] Charlotte made their first playoff appearance since 1997 despite having one of poorest records among playoff teams that year.[50][51] The next season brought further improvement with an 18-game improvement over 2003–04’s disappointing campaign.[52] However after another disappointing start to 2006–07 dropping 19 out of their first 23 games[53] Bickerstaff was relieved from coaching duties on December 22,[54] making way for assistant coach Sam Vincent.[55] After taking over Bickerstaff’s duties Vincent led them to win only 7 out their next 41 games resulting in one win away from tying an NBA record for worst single-season record.[56][57][58] During this disappointing campaign Owner Bob Johnson announced on April 26 that he was putting the team up for sale,[59][60][61] which was finalized on May 25 when Jordan agreed to purchase an 84% controlling interest from Johnson for $275 million,[62][63][64] replacing Johnson as CEO at age 40 becoming again majority shareholder and officially taking over operation ofteam on July 18.[65][66][67]

Scottie Pippen

Pippen was selected to play in the 1992 NBA All-Star Game, where he led the Eastern Conference team with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 steals, and was named co-MVP with Magic Johnson. Pippen continued to be one of the top players in the league during the early 1990s, leading the Bulls to a 55-win season in 1993–94. He was named to the All-NBA Second Team for a second consecutive year. In the playoffs, Pippen helped lead the Bulls past Patrick Ewing and the New York Knicks in seven games in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Bulls then defeated Shaquille O’Neal’s Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals, setting up a matchup with Hakeem Olajuwon’s Houston Rockets in The Finals. Despite suffering from flu-like symptoms for much of The Finals, Pippen averaged 21.0 points per game as the Bulls won their fourth NBA title in six seasons by defeating Houston in six games.

Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are one of the most dominant teams in the NBA right now. They have the best record in the league and are coming off of a huge win against the Golden State Warriors. The Pistons are led by their superstar point guard, Reggie Jackson, who is averaging over 20 points and 10 assists per game. The Pistons also have a great supporting cast, including center Andre Drummond, who is one of the best rebounders in the NBA.

Isiah Thomas

Isiah Lord Thomas III (born April 30, 1961) is an American former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). A point guard, he spent his entire 12-year career with the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons selected Thomas with the second overall pick in the 1981 NBA draft. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2000.

Thomas has been described as one of the best point guards and one of the worst shooters to ever play in the NBA. Although he never won a championship, Thomas is recognized as one of the best players in Pistons history, and was voted one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History in 1996. Off the court, Thomas spearheaded a successful campaign for African-Americans to become head coaches in the NBA. He also founded The Isiah International Peace Center, a nonprofit organization that provides social services to needy children and their families.

Joe Dumars

Joe Dumars was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on May 24, 1963. He was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 1985 and played his entire 14-year career with the team. He was a member of the “Bad Boys” Pistons teams that won back-to-back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990. Dumars was named NBA Finals MVP in 1989 and was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.
