Who Leads the NFL in Passing Yards?
After seven weeks of NFL action, four quarterbacks find themselves within 100 passing yards of one another. Who leads the NFL in passing yards?
Tom Brady
In the National Football League, the record for most passing yards in a career is held by New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. He has thrown for 79,416 yards in his NFL career, which includes 20 seasons with the Patriots and two with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady has been selected to participate in 14 Pro Bowls and was named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player four times.
Drew Brees
As of right now, the NFL leader in passing yards is Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. He has thrown for a total of 4,368 yards so far this season.
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning is a former American football quarterback who played 18 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Indianapolis Colts. Considered to be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, he holds NFL records for most career touchdown passes, most career passing yards, and most single-season passing yards. He is also the NFL’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns and quarterback wins. Manning was drafted by the Colts as the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. From 1998 to 2010, he improved the fortunes of the struggling Colts franchise and helped transform them into perennial playoff contenders. During his tenure as starting quarterback, Manning led the team to eight division championships, two AFC Championships, and one Super Bowl title, which came in Super Bowl XLI where he was named Super Bowl MVP after setting then-Super Bowl records of 257 passing yards and 33 completions.
The only player aspect of Manning’s game that deteriorated during his final four seasons was his mobility, as several serious injuries caused him to miss games and robbed him of much of his athleticism. Nonetheless, he continued to put up strong numbers during his final years with Indianapolis. When he finally retired following the 2015 season (his 18th), he held almost every significant NFL passing record. He left behind a legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks ever to play football
Philip Rivers
Philip Rivers leads the NFL in passing yards with 4,615. The next closest player is Drew Brees, who has 4,558 passing yards.
Eli Manning
As of Week 14 of the 2019 NFL season, Eli Manning leads the NFL in passing yards with 4,096. He is closely followed by Dak Prescott (4,053), Russell Wilson (3,946), and Kirk Cousins (3,grasp835).
