NHL

Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins is currently leading the NHL in points with 84. This is his second season as the NHL’s leading scorer, and he is on track to break his own record.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning are a professional ice hockey team based in Tampa, Florida. They are members of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Lightning were founded in 1992 as an expansion team. The team played their home games in the Expo Hall at the Florida State Fairgrounds until 1996, when they moved to their current home arena, Amalie Arena.

The Lightning have won one Stanley Cup championship in their history, in 2003–04. The team is currently led by captain Steven Stamkos, and head coach Jon Cooper.

Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars currently lead the NHL in points with a record of 38-20-7. They have 83 points so far this season. The Stars have been led by their captain, Jamie Benn, who has 27 goals and 26 assists for a total of 53 points. Other key contributors for the Stars include Tyler Seguin (24 goals, 28 assists, 52 points), Alexander Radulov (21 goals, 30 assists, 51 points), and John Klingberg (9 goals, 42 assists, 51 points).

Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche are a professional ice hockey team based in Denver, Colorado. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The Avalanche were founded in 1972 as the Quebec Nordiques and were one of the four teams that joined the NHL as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. The franchise relocated to Denver in 1995.

The Avalanches have won nine division titles and two conference championships. Their only Stanley Cup victory came in 1996, three years after relocating to Denver, when they defeated the Florida Panthers in four games. The Milwaukee Bucks currently lead the NBA in points per game, averaging 118.5 points. The second-highest scoring team is the Houston Rockets, who average 114.2 points per game.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women’s National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA, and have won 17 NBA championships, including their first in 1947 and their most recent in 2010.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Center, located in downtown Houston. The Rockets have won two NBA championships and four Western Conference titles. The team was established as the San Diego Rockets, an expansion team originally based in San Diego, in 1967. In 1971, the Rockets moved to Houston.

NFL

As of Week 6, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans leads the NFL in points with 66. Evans has been on fire this season, scoring touchdowns in five of his six games. Evans is averaging 11 points per game, which is ahead of the second-highest scorer, Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is averaging 9.4 points per game.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are an American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion. For the 2019 NFL season, the New Orleans Saints led the league in points with 529. The next closest team was the Baltimore Ravens with 385.
