The baseball playoffs are in full swing and we’re down to the last four teams. Who’s left standing in the chase for the World Series title?
The American League
The American League has been whittled down to just four teams after two rounds of playoffs. The Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, New York Yankees, and Chicago Cubs are the last teams standing in the AL. Who will make it to the World Series?
The New York Yankees
The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the Bronx, New York City. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the National League’s (NL) New York Mets. The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles (no relation to the modern Baltimore Orioles). In 1903, Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise after it ceased operations and moved it to New York City, renaming the club the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed the Yankees in 1913.
The team is owned by Yankee Global Enterprises, an LLC controlled by the family of the late George Steinbrenner, who purchased their stake in 1973 for $8.7 million. Brian Cashman is the team’s general manager, and Aaron Boone is their manager. The team’s home games were played at Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 1973 and from 1976 to 2008. In 1974 and 1975, their home games were played at Shea Stadium in Flushing, Queens while Yankee Stadium was being renovated. From 2009 to 2012, their home games were played at Citi Field in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park while Yankee Stadium was being renovated once again..
The Cleveland Indians
The Cleveland Indians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central division. Since 1994, they have played at Progressive Field. The team’s spring training facility is at Goodyear Ballpark in Goodyear, Arizona. Since their establishment as a major league franchise in 1901, the Indians have won two World Series championships: in 1920 and 1948, along with 10 Central Division titles and six American League pennants. The Indians have the second-longest active winning streak in American League history, behind the Oakland Athletics.
The franchise originated in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1894 as the Grand Rapids Rustlers, a minor league team that competed in the Western League. The team then moved to Cleveland in 1900 and changed its name to the Cleveland Lake Shores. The Western League itself changed its name to the American League while continuing its minor league status. One of the AL’s eight charter franchises, the major league incarnation of the club was founded in Cleveland in 1901. Originally called the Cleveland Bluebirds, the team played all home games at League Park until moving permanently to Cleveland Stadium in 1946. At the end of 1900 season, Ban Johnson, president of Western League reorganized league clubs between defunct New York Metropolitans and remaining clubs Pittsburgh Pirates first and Brooklyn Dodgers second into eight new franchises that were assigned cities that had no major or minor league baseball teams left , with one additional as Spititied by National Agreement as replacement for defunct Washington Senators .

Both were elected to hall of fame along with Early Wynn , Bob Feller , Larry Doby ,Roberto Alomar and Jim Thome from indian roster . Lou Boudreau another great indian player from era before hall of famers mentioned above managed team to world series title against Boston Braves led by another future hall of famer Warren Spahn In addition to these two titles ,team has also won five other AL pennants but lost all WS appearances including WS losses against crosstown rivals cincinnati Reds led by great players like Frank Robinson and Joe Morgan both eventual hall of famers . Team currently is managed by Terry Francona who previously managed Boston red sox to two world series titles including their first title since 1918 drought Under his leadership team has made play offs four times since 2013 missing out only on 2017 despite having best record in AL that year due to rain out which caused divisional tiebreaker game against yankees which they eventually lost thus missing play offs although they went on win next year’s world series . Currently their roster includes few future hall of famers like francisco lindor as well shortstop Jose Ramirez third baseman recently signed pitcher Gerrit Cole whom they acquired from houston Astros and reigning Cyprus Man award winner Shane Bieber starting pitcher whom they acquired from cuyahoga County community college .

The Astros compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) West division, having moved to the division in 2013 after spending their first 51 seasons in the National League (NL).
The National League
The Milwaukee Brewers, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves are the last three teams standing in the National League. The Brewers and Dodgers will face off in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series. The Braves will play the winner of the American League Championship Series in the best-of-seven World Series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) West division. Established in 1883 in Brooklyn, New York, the team relocated to Los Angeles before the 1958 season. They played for four seasons at the Memorial Coliseum before moving to their current home of Dodger Stadium in 1962.

The team plays its home games at Wrigley Field, located on the city’s North Side. The Cubs are one of two major league teams in Chicago; the other, the Chicago White Sox, is a member of the American League (AL) Central division.
The Washington Nationals
The Washington Nationals are an American professional baseball team based in Washington, D.C. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) East division. From 2005 to 2007, the team played in RFK Stadium; since 2008, its home ballpark has been Nationals Park on South Capitol Street in Southeast D.C., near the Anacostia River.
