Nike also owned Bauer Hockey (later renamed NIKE Bauer) between 1995 and 2008. In addition to manufacturing sportswear and equipment, the company operates retail stores under the Niketown name. Why They Were Chosen

Champion was the exclusive provider of NBA jerseys from 1983 until 2001. They lost the contract to Reebok in the fall of 2001. Nike took over starting in the 2017 season.

Value Added Basketball statistical analyst Adrian Dater has argued that Kurland was “clearly” the best college player of his day, as he was twice named NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player. In 1949, Kurland was named Helms Foundation College Basketball Player of the Year— Kurland was only the second player to receive both honors.

At a news conference in New York City on November 3, 2017, Adidas unveiled their new partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA), which will begin with the 2017–18 NBA season. As part of this new partnership, Adidas will replace Nike as the official outfitter of the league, its 30 teams, and major on-court apparel supplier beginning with the 2017–18 NBA season. Why They Were Chosen
Adidas was chosen as the NBA’s official outfitter in 2006 in a 10-year deal that was reportedly worth $400 million. The company outfitted all 30 NBA teams and also became the exclusive provider of replica jerseys. In 2009, Adidas signed an eight-year extension with the NBA that was reportedly worth $400 million.
