The matchups

Now that the NFL season is officially over, it’s time to take a look at the playoff bracket. The top six seeds in each conference have been locked in, and we now know who they’ll be playing in the first round.

In the AFC, the New England Patriots earned the top seed and will have a bye week. They’ll be playing the lowest remaining seed in the divisional round. The second seed goes to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who will take on the Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round. The third seed is belonging to the Jacksonville Jaguars, who will play the Buffalo Bills. And finally, the Kansas City Chiefs snagged the fourth seed and will play the Tennessee Titans.

Over in the NFC, things are a little different. The Minnesota Vikings are slated as the top team and they’ll also have a bye week. But instead of playing the lowest remaining see, they’ll take on whichever team emerges from the wild-card round game between longtime rivals, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The Los Angeles Rams clinchedthe second seed and will play whoever comes out of that same game. The New Orleans Saints grabbedthe third seed and will play whoever emerges from a matchup between two other divisional rivals, the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons. And last but not least, is the Dallas Cowboys as theseeded team in fourth place, who will play whoever comes out of another divisional rivalry gamebetween two more NFC East teams, the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins.

The first round of playoff games will take place on Wild Card Weekend (Jan. 5-6), followed byDivisional Playoffs (Jan. 12-13), Conference Championships (Jan. 20) and finally, Super BowlLIII on Feb 3
