Who Made The Nba Playoffs?
Contents
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, and there are some great matchups to watch. But who made the playoffs, and who didn’t? Here’s a quick rundown.
Conference Finals
The conference finals are the last step before the NBA Finals. In the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks will take on the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors have been the best team in the East all season, but the Bucks have been right behind them. In the Western Conference, the Golden State Warriors will take on the Portland Trail Blazers. The Warriors are the defending champions, but the Trail Blazers have been one of the best teams in the West all season.
Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference Finals are set, with the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Toronto Raptors. The Bucks are coming off a convincing victory over the Boston Celtics, while the Raptors needed all seven games to get past the Philadelphia 76ers.
This will be the first time these two teams have met in the playoffs since 2001, when the Bucks beat the Raptors in six games. This is also just the second time in franchise history that the Raptors have made it to the Conference Finals.
The Bucks are led by MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo, who averaged 27.7 points, 12.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game during the regular season. The Raptors are led by Kawhi Leonard, who averaged 27.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game during the regular season.
The series will start on Wednesday, May 15th at 8:00pm ET in Milwaukee.
Western Conference
The Western Conference finals are set, with the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Denver Nuggets. The Lakers are coming off a tough seven-game series against the Houston Rockets, while the Nuggets needed just five games to dispatch of the Portland Trail Blazers.
This will be the first meeting between these two teams in the playoffs since 2010, when the Lakers won in six games. The Lakers went on to win the NBA Finals that year, but this Nuggets team is much different than the one that they faced off against nine years ago.
The Lakers will have their hands full with this Denver team, which is led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. Jokic is one of the best big men in the league, and he proved it in their series against Portland, averaging 27 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists per game. Murray is also a force to be reckoned with, as he averaged 24 points per game against Portland.
The Lakers will need to find a way to slow down these two players if they want to win this series. They do have some experience playing against teams with great big men, as they just faced off against Houston’s James Harden and Russell Westbrook. However, those two players are not at the same level as Jokic and Murray, so the Lakers will need to be at their best if they want to advance to the NBA Finals.
