Who Made The Playoffs In The NFL?

The NFL playoffs are here! Who made the playoffs this year and who will be crowned the champion?

AFC

The New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Kansas City Chiefs have all clinched a spot in the AFC playoffs. The Patriots and Steelers will have a bye week in the first round, while the Jaguars will host the Buffalo Bills and the Chiefs will host the Tennessee Titans.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is located 28 miles (45 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An original member of the American Football League (AFL), the Patriots joined the NFL in 1970 as part of the AFL–NFL merger. The team changed its name from the original Boston Patriots after relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots played their home games at Foxboro Stadium from 1971 to 2001, then moved to Gillette Stadium at the start of 2002 season.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a professional American football team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Steelers have played their home games at Heinz Field on Pittsburgh’s North Side in the North Shore neighborhood since 2001. They previously played at Three Rivers Stadium from 1970 to 2000.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are a professional American football team based in Houston, Texas. The Texans compete in the National Football League as a member club of the American Football Conference South division. The team plays its home games at NRG Stadium.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The team was founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans by businessman Lamar Hunt and was a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City and assumed their current name. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.

NFC

As the regular NFL season comes to an end, we break down which teams clinched a playoff berth in the NFC. The NFC playoff race was tight this year, with only a few teams separating the pack. Here’s a look at the final standings and who will be representing the conference in the playoffs.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are a professional American football team that compete in the National Football League (NFL). They are a member of the NFC West division, and play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The Rams franchise was founded in 1936 as the Cleveland Rams, and was based in Cleveland, Ohio, for the next 31 years. The franchise moved to Los Angeles in 1946 following that year’s NFL Championship Game victory. The franchise then won another NFL Championship in 1951 while based in Los Angeles before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, following the 1994 NFL season. The team then won Super Bowl LIII in 2018 while again based in Los Angeles.

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Saints currently compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) South division. The team was founded by John W. Mecom Jr., David Dixon, and the city of New Orleans on November 1, 1966. The Saints began play in Tulane Stadium in 1967.

The name “Saints” is an allusion to November 1 being All Saints Day in the Catholic faith, as New Orleans was historically a predominantly Catholic city. The team’s primary colors are old gold and black; their logo is a simplified version of the fleur-de-lis adorned with a golden crown. They played their home games in Tulane Stadium through 1974, when they moved to the new Louisiana Superdome (now Mercedes-Benz Superdome).

For most of their first 20 years, the Saints were barely competitive, only getting to .500 twice. In 1987, they finished 12–3—their first-ever winning season—and qualified for the NFC playoffs for the first time in franchise history. In five seasons under head coach Jim Mora Jr., from 1987 to 1991, the Saints posted a combined record of 49–15 (.766),[4] and captured two Divisional championships and one NFC championship.[5]

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears are a professional American football team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). They have played over one thousand games since becoming a charter member of the NFL in 1920, and claim thirteen NFL Championships. The franchise traces its origins back to Decatur, Illinois, which spawned the Decatur Staleys (named for their owner, A. E. Staley), one of the original fourteen founding members of the NFL.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys made the playoffs in the NFL by winning the NFC East.
