Under Louis’ leadership, the Royals won the World Series in 2015. He is also a member of the Kansas City Sports Commission and the Board of Directors for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

The Royals Charities

The Royals Youth Foundation

The Royals Youth Foundation (RYF) is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in the Kansas City community. Through educational and recreational programs, the RYF strives to create a safe and nurturing environment for all children.

The RYF was founded in 1986 by then-Kansas City Royals owner Ewing Kauffman. Kauffman was deeply committed to giving back to the community, and he saw the importance of investing in the city’s youth.

Since its inception, the RYF has grown tremendously. It now provides funding for a wide range of programs, including after-school programs, youth sports leagues, scholarships, and more. In 2019, the RYF awarded over $1 million in grants to local organizations serving children.

The RYF is funded primarily through donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations. In 2019, the Foundation raised over $4 million from generous donors.
