Who Will Play Tomorrow in the NFL?

The New England Patriots

This is a very difficult question to answer. The answer may depend on the specific game and on the team’s current state.

The New England Patriots’ Schedule

The New England Patriots are a professional American football team based in the Greater Boston area. The Patriots compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The team plays its home games at Gillette Stadium in the town of Foxborough, Massachusetts, which is 28 miles (45 km) southwest of downtown Boston.

The Patriots are also headquartered at Gillette Stadium. An ownership group led by Robert Kraft has owned the team since 1994. The team was founded as the Boston Patriots in 1959, and played in that city for eight seasons before relocating to Foxborough in 1971. The Patriots joined the NFL as part of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970, and have participated in the league ever since. The team changed its name to the New England Patriots after relocating to Foxborough following the 1970 season.

The Patriots have appeared in eleven Super Bowls since 2001, winning seven of them, most recently Super Bowl LIII in February 2019. They also won two more championship games before the league’s merger with the rival American Football League (AFL), one apiece against Super Bowl V and Super Bowl VI then between 2001 and 2017 became one of just two teams to appear nine times consecutively along with Pittsburgh Steelers from 2010-18. In so doing, they have become one of only six teams overall to win at least three Lombardi Trophies – including an unprecedented five straight from 2016-20 – and four Vince Lombardi Trophies (an additional trophy awarded to a head coach not already recognized by winning any other coaching award). With their seven wins, they are tied with Pittsburgh for second place behind San Francisco (with five) for most NFL championships; both trail only Green Bay’s record 13 titles overall (nine pre-merger NFL championships plus four pre-Super Bowl NFL titles). They are also tied with Dallas and Denver for most conference championships won since 1970; all three teams have five apiece over that span.[10][11] From 2001 to 2018,New England has had more total wins (including playoffs) than any other NFL franchise.[12]

The team’s losses include eight failures to make it to a conference championship game – more than any other franchise over that same span – as well as three crushing defeats in AFC Championship Games: a 46–10 drubbing by Buffalo after going 14–2 during the regular season in 1990;[13] a 23–14 heartbreaker against Jacksonville following a 13–3 campaign in 1996;[14] and finally, an 18-point comeback by Peyton Manning and Indianapolis after finishing 14–2 again during the 2003 regular season,[15] which would start a streak of five straight losses (and seven overall defeats) in AFC Championship Games that would not end until their win over Kansas City on January 20, 2019; this was also notable for being their first home AFC Championship game loss ever.[16] They also famously lost Super Bowl XLII on what is considered one of the biggest upsets in sports history when Eli Manning led an improbable drive downfield late in the game to shock Tom Brady and company 17-14 despite being outgained 357 yards to 273 yards.[17][18]

They have won ten AFC East championships since 2001, 17 AFC overall championships and appeared in 19 AFC Championship Games tied with Pittsburgh for most appearances by any team during that span, winning 14 of them—including seven consecutive wins from 2003 to 2009 and 11 straight wins from 2010 to 2016; both streaks were NFL records until 2017, when Pittsburgh won its 13th straight division title and 13th consecutive playoff berth with a 42-17 win over Miami on December 31st. With their victory over Los Angeles on February 5th 2018, the New England Patriots now have won more Super Bowls than any other franchise with five victories—the most recent being Super Bowl LIII when they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13-3 on February 3rd 2019.

Between 1919 and 1920, the Packers competed against other semi-pro clubs from around Wisconsin and Michigan. They joined the American Professional Football Association (APFA), now known as the National Football League (NFL), in 1921. The APFA changed its name to reflect that it was now a major league after encountering serious financial difficulties with several of its member franchises during its first few seasons; Lambeau’s team was also hit hard by this issue as players’ salaries nearly doubled from $5,000 to $10,000 per year by 1922 due largely to inflated costs for equipment and facilities, travel expenses for road games, and higher gate receipts coming into team coffers as fans increasingly flocked to see live action—all of which ate away at any profits generated by player sales while also putting intense pressure on players themselves to perform well enough on game days that they would continue receiving such raises year after year until they finally saw their careers cut short due either to career-ending injuries or declining skill sets brought about by age that resulted in their release by their respective teams resulting in replacement players taking their places on rosters who could be had for much less money thereby allowing said teams’ owners/operators generate healthy profits year after year while also increasing their overall wealth thereby solidifying their already strong positions among not just those who owned/operated NFL franchises but among those who were considered upper crust members of society within said cities wherein their respective NFL franchises operated giving them immense social prestige & clout along with any political ambitions they may have had thereby allowing them use said prestige & clout along with any political ambitions they may have had to clout & bully city officials into giving them what they wanted be it subsidies &/or tax breaks for building new stadiums &/or practice facilities &/or moving said teams to different cities if they so desired thereby giving them immense power & influence most people could only dream of having thereby essentially making them modern day Robber Barons ala John D Rockefeller & Andrew Carnegie among others.

The Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have been one of the most dominant teams in the NFL over the past few years. They have a great defense, and their offense is starting to click as well. They are currently in first place in their division, and they are looking to clinch a first-round bye in the playoffs.

The Baltimore Ravens’ Schedule

The Baltimore Ravens are an American football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The team plays its home games at M&T Bank Stadium and is headquartered in Owings Mills.

The Ravens were established in 1996, when Art Modell, who was then the owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced plans to relocate the franchise to Baltimore. As part of a settlement between Modell, the city of Cleveland, and the other NFL franchises, Modell was required to leave the Browns’ history and records in Cleveland for a replacement team and replacement personnel that would take control in 1999. In return, he was allowed to take his own personnel and team to Baltimore, where such personnel would then form an expansion team. The Ravens have qualified for the NFL playoffs eleven times since 2000, with two Super Bowl victories (Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII), two AFC Championship titles (2000 and 2012), 15 playoff victories (10th most in NFL history), four AFC North division titles (2003, 2006, 2011, 2018), and are currently the only team in the NFL to hold a perfect record in multiple Super Bowl appearances. The Ravens organization has also won four times since 2000; Super Bowl XXXV (in 2000), followed by Ed Reed’s 52-yard game-winning touchdown run off an interception against the New York Giants four years later; defeating their chief rivals, AFC North division champions Pittsburgh Steelers 23–14 at Heinz Field following a final drive interception by safety Troy Polamalu also known as “The Pittsburgh Steal”; 27–10 over San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium during Super Bowl XLVII despite being down 28-6 at halftime against their former head coach Jim Harbaugh; and trouncing fellow AFC West rivals Los Angeles Rams en route to winning their second consecutive Lamar Hunt Trophy after previously winning it 24 years ago during their debut season as well as winning their conference championship game for three straight seasons from 2018 till 2020.

The Ravens were founded by Art Modell, who is credited with naming the team after Poe’s poem The Raven.[8][9] At the time Poe lived in Baltimore,[10] serving as first mate on a merchant ship from 1815–1820.[11] Meanwhile, Poe’s publication of “The Raven” on January 29, 1845 made him one of America’s first literary celebrities.[12][13] Soon afterward he abandoned his seafaring career and returned to Baltimore,[14] where he took up residence near Fells Point.[9][15][16][17]
