The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Connor Murphy on a six-year contract extension, which runs through the 2025-26 season. The 27-year-old blueliner is currently in his second season with the Blackhawks, tallying four goals and 16 assists in 54 games.

“We are very pleased to extend Connor’s contract with the Blackhawks,” said General Manager Stan Bowman. “He is an important part of our team’s core group and we look forward to his continued contributions on both ends of the ice for many years to come.”

Murphy was acquired by Chicago from Arizona in July of 2018 in exchange for winger Marian Hossa and defenseman Vinnie Hinostroza. He has appeared in 291 career NHL games over parts of seven seasons with the Blackhawks and Coyotes, registering 23 goals and 84 assists.
