The NBA playoffs are finally here!
We know that you’re as excited as we are, so we wanted to give you a quick guide on who’s playing who.
In the first round, the Golden State Warriors will take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Warriors are the favorites to win the series, but the Clippers have been playing well lately and could give them a run for their money.

Eastern Conference
The Eastern Conference is made up of the following teams: the Boston Celtics, the Brooklyn Nets, the New York Knicks, the Philadelphia 76ers, the Toronto Raptors, the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Indiana Pacers.
Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are an American professional basketball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Celtics compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. Founded in 1946 as one of the league’s original eight teams, the team play their home games at TD Garden, which they share with the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Boston Bruins. The Celtics are one of the most successful teams in NBA history; they have won the most championships of any NBA franchise with 17, accounting for 24.8% of all NBA championships since the league’s founding in 1947.
Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member club of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They play their home games at the Scotiabank Arena, which they share with the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs. The team was established in 1995, along with the Vancouver Grizzlies, as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.
After winning their first game against the New Jersey Nets, they set an NBA record for the most wins in an expansion season with 21 victories. The Raptors finished their inaugural season with a 26–56 win–loss record. Led by Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady, in their second season, they won 47 games and earned a playoff berth for the first time in franchise history. However, they were defeated by the New York Knicks 3–2 in the first round of playoffs.
Philadelphia 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers are a professional basketball team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are members of the Eastern Conference Atlantic Division in the National Basketball Association (NBA). The 76ers play their home games at the Wells Fargo Center, which they share with the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Philadelphia Flyers.
Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers are a professional basketball team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Pacers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member club of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division. The team plays its home games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, which they share with the women’s basketball team Indiana Fever, as well as the Indiana Firebirds of the Arena Football League and the IndianapolisGladiators of the ECHL. The Pacers began play in 1967 as members of the American Basketball Association (ABA) where they won three championships. In 1976, the Pacers merged with the NBA. The Pacers have won five Central Division championships (1993, 1994, 1995, 1999 and 2000), three Eastern Conference championships (2000, 2013 and 2014), one NBA Finals appearance (2000) and one ABA championship (1970).
Western Conference
The NBA playoffs are just around the corner, and the race for seeding is still ongoing. At the moment, the Golden State Warriors are in the lead for the first seed, followed by the Denver Nuggets. However, there are still a few games left to be played, so anything can happen. Let’s take a look at the teams in the Western Conference and see who has the best chance of winning the NBA championship.
Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in Oakland, California. The Warriors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Pacific Division. The Warriors have reached nine NBA Finals, winning five NBA championships in 1947, 1956, 1975, 2015, and 2017.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the Toyota Center, located in downtown Houston. The Rockets have won two NBA championships and four Western Conference titles. The team was established as the San Diego Rockets, an expansion team originally based in San Diego, in 1967. In 1971, the Rockets moved to Houston. The Rockets won only 15 games in their debut season as a franchise in 1967. In the 1968 NBA draft, the Rockets, picking first overall, selected power forward Elvin Hayes, who would lead the team to its first playoff appearance in his rookie season. The Rockets did not finish a season with a winning record until the 1976–77 season when they traded for center Moses Malone . They made the playoffs six times through the end of 1982 , but never advanced past the first round
Portland Trail Blazers
The Portland Trail Blazers, commonly known as the Blazers, are an American professional basketball team based in Portland, Oregon. The Trail Blazers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division. The franchise was founded in 1970, and played its home games in Memorial Coliseum before moving to Moda Center in 1995 (called the Rose Garden until 2013). Since their inception, the Blazers have qualified for the NBA playoffs 29 times, winning three conference championships and one NBA title.
Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder are a professional basketball team based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They play in the Western Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Thunder were founded as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1967. The team moved to Oklahoma City in 2008 after a dispute with their former owner, and became the Thunder.
TheThunder are coached by Billy Donovan and play their home games at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The team is owned by Clayton Bennett, who bought the franchise in 2006. The Thunder’s NBA G League affiliate is the Oklahoma City Blue, which it also owns.
