Who Threw The Longest Pass In NFL History?
Drew Brees
In 2008, New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees broke the longstanding record for the longest pass completion in an NFL game.
Brees’ pass, which went for 91 yards, came on a second-and-10 play from the Saints’ own nine-yard line late in the fourth quarter of a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The pass was caught by wide receiver Robert Meachem, who took it all the way for a touchdown.
Brees’ completion eclipsed the previous record of 90 yards, which had been set by Buffalo Bills quarterback Jack Kemp in a 1968 game against the San Diego Chargers.
Tom Brady
Tom Brady holds the record for the longest pass in NFL history. The pass occurred during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010. Brady’s pass was 87 yards long and was caught by receiver Randy Moss.
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning holds the record for the longest pass in NFL history. On November 8, 2014, in a game against the San Francisco 49ers, Manning completed a 99-yard pass to Demaryius Thomas. The play was made possible by a great deal of pressure from the Broncos’ offensive line, which gave Manning time to find an open receiver.
