He played shooting guard and small forward for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2003 until 2010, when he became a free agent and joined the Miami Heat. He is one of the NBA’s all-time Greatest Players according to LeBron James. In 2010, Wade was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year.
Chris Bosh
When the Miami Heat joined forces with LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in 2010, they did so with the intention of winning an NBA championship. And that’s exactly what they did, led by All-Star power forward Chris Bosh. A championship-caliber player himself, Bosh was the perfect compliment to James and Wade, giving the Heat a “Big Three” that was unmatched in the NBA.
Bosh was born in Dallas, Texas, and played his high school basketball at Lincoln High School. He then went on to play one year of college basketball at Georgia Tech before declare himself eligible for the 2003 NBA Draft. Bosh was drafted 4th overall by the Toronto Raptors, and he would go on to spend the first seven years of his career in Toronto.
In Miami, Bosh quickly established himself as one of the best power forwards in the league. He was named an All-Star in each of his first three seasons with the Heat, and he helped lead them to back-to-back NBA Championships in 2012 and 2013. A key part of Miami’s success, Bosh was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 2013 and 2014.
Unfortunately, Bosh’s time with the Heat came to an abrupt end in 2016 when he was diagnosed with blood clots for a second time. He missed the final two months of that season as well as all of the playoffs, and he hasn’t played since. The Heat eventually parted ways with Bosh via amnestied waived him in 2017 after he failed a physical.
