The NBA Slam Dunk Contest is always one of the most highly anticipated events of All-Star Weekend, and this year was no different. From Aaron Gordon’s impressive showing to Zach LaVine’s victory, check out who was in the dunk contest this year.

2020 NBA Dunk Contest

The 2020 NBA Slam Dunk Contest was the 34th edition of the Slam Dunk Contest, held during the 2019–20 NBA All-Star Weekend. The contest was originally scheduled to take place on February 15, 2020, but was postponed to April 18 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, Derrick Jones Jr. of the Miami Heat won the contest.

Derrick Jones Jr.

Derrick Jones Jr. (born February 15, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Pat Connaughton

In 2015, Connaughton participated in the Slam Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend, representing the Portland Trail Blazers. He was the first player in 12 years to represent the Trail Blazers in the contest. He wore a Superman cape while completing his first dunk, which earned a score of 47. He was eliminated in the first round after receiving a score of 45 on his second dunk.

2019 NBA Dunk Contest

Zion Williamson, Miles Bridges, Derrick Jones Jr., and Hamidou Diallo competed in the 2019 NBA Dunk Contest. Zion Williamson won the contest with a between-the-legs dunk from the free-throw line.

Warriors small forward Hamidou Diallo won the 2019 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C., besting Charlotte’s Miles Bridges in the final round.

Diallo put on a show in the opening round, receiving a 48 on his first dunk after leaping over Shaquille O’Neal and ripping down the rim with his right hand. He followed that up with a 45 on his second dunk, which saw him leap over Boston’s Gordon Hayward while catching and dunking a lob from OKC’s Russell Westbrook.

Miles Bridges

Miles Bridges (born March 21, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Michigan State Spartans. He was selected with the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft.

John Collins

John Collins competed in the 2019 NBA Dunk Contest. He is a power forward for the Atlanta Hawks.

2018 NBA Dunk Contest

The NBA Slam Dunk Contest is an annual event that takes place during the NBA All-Star Weekend. It is a competition between the league’s best dunkers. This year’s dunk contest was won by Philadelphia 76ers’ rookie, Donovan Mitchell.

Victor Oladipo

Victor Oladipo won the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday night, beating out Dennis Smith Jr. and Larry Nance Jr. in the final round.

Oladipo, who won the dunk contest as a rookie back in 2015, came out swinging in the first round with a between-the-legs slam off an alley-oop pass from Domantas Sabonis. He followed that up with a one-handed 360 dunk that brought the crowd to its feet.

In the second round, Oladipo needed two attempts to convert on a between-the-legs alley-oop from Glenn Robinson III, but he redeemed himself with an impressive reverse slam off another Robinson III pass.

With his 40 points in the first two rounds, Oladipo easily advanced to the final round, where he faced off against Smith Jr. and Nance Jr.

Both Smith Jr. and Nance Jr. had impressive moments in the contest, but neither could match Oladipo’s overall body of work. In the end, Oladipo was named the winner, adding another dunk contest title to his resume.
