Zion Williamson
Zion Williamson of the New Orleans Pelicans was unanimously named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year, the league announced Monday. Williamson, 19, is the first Pelicans player to win the award and the fourth No. 1 overall pick to do so in the past five seasons.

Kendrick Nunn was the Rookie of the Year for the 2020-2021 NBA season. He is a shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors. Nunn was born on August 3, 1996, in Chicago, Illinois. He played college basketball for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.

Born in Saginaw, Michigan, Kendrick Nunn attended Saginaw High School before committing to play college basketball for the Oakland Golden Grizzlies. He played two seasons for Oakland before transferring to the University of Illinois. As a senior, Nunn averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, helping Illinois reach the NCAA tournament.
Nunn was not selected in the 2018 NBA draft and began his professional career with the Golden State Warriors’ Summer League team. He was later signed by the Miami Heat and spent most of the 2018-19 season with their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. Nunn made his NBA debut in April 2019 and went on to average 10.5 points per game during his rookie season.
In 2020-21, Nunn emerged as one of Miami’s top players, averaging 18.7 points and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 37 percent from three-point range. He was named the NBA’s Rookie of the Month twice during the season and ultimately finished second in voting for Rookie of the Year behind Tyler Herro.

He then attended Oakland University, where he played for two seasons. In his senior year, Nunn averaged 26.9 points per game and was named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year.
Nunn went undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft but joined the Miami Heat for the 2018 NBA Summer League. He made his NBA debut on October 18, 2018, scoring 10 points in a loss to the Orlando Magic. On January 5, 2019, Nunn scored a career-high 28 points in a win over the Los Angeles Lakers. On February 15, 2019, he scored 27 points in a win over the Toronto Raptors. On April 9, 2019, Nunn scored 19 points in a playoff-clinching win over the Brooklyn Nets.
In December 2020, Nunn was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for November after averaging 18.8 points per game during the month. On January 3, 2021, he scored a then career-high 30 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. On March 3rd 2021 Kendrick won Eastern Conference Rookie Of The Month again after averaging 20ppg throughout February 2021. On April 5th 2021 Kendrick was officially named NBA Rookie Of The Year!

Herro was selected 13th overall in the 2020 NBA draft by the Miami Heat. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Tyler Herro had a successful rookie season, becoming one of the most impactful players on the Miami Heat. He averaged 13.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
