Zion Williamson’s college career
Zion Williamson began his collegiate career with the Duke Blue Devils in the 2018-19 season. He quickly established himself as one of the most dominant players in college basketball, averaging 22.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. He was named the National Player of the Year by multiple publications, and led Duke to a 32-6 record and a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
In his lone NCAA Tournament game, Williamson scored 31 points and added 11 rebounds in a victory over North Dakota State. However, he suffered a knee injury early in the game and did not return. Duke would go on to lose to Michigan State in the Elite Eight without him.
Williamson declared for the NBA Draft following his freshman season, and was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans.
