This year, the race for MVP was a close one, with a number of players putting up impressive numbers. But in the end, there was one clear winner: Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Aaron Rodgers had an incredible 2020 NFL season. He led the league in passing yards and touchdown passes, and he also had the highest passer rating. He was a big part of the reason why the Packers had the best record in the NFL. Rodgers was named the MVP of the league, and he deserved it.

The Packers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. It is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team based in the United States. Home games have been played at Lambeau Field since 1957.
The Packers are ranked eighth in the league in terms of official all-time wins, with 498 victories over their storied history. They have played in a record thirteen NFL Championship Games, winning nine of them – more than any other team in NFL history. They also hold the distinction of being the only team to win three consecutive NFL championships, having accomplished this feat twice (1929–1931 and 1965–1967).

Heading into the 2020 NFL season, there was a lot of hype surrounding Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes had just come off of a record-breaking season in which he threw for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. He was the clear favorite to win the MVP award heading into the season.

He is the youngest player in NFL history to be named Super Bowl MVP, and is the first African-American quarterback to win the award. Mahomes played college football for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, where he was a two-time NCAA Division I FBS passing yards leader. After being selected by Kansas City in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, he became the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018.
During his first season as a starter, Mahomes threw for 5,097 yards and 50 touchdowns, leading the Chiefs to an AFC West division championship and earning him NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors. In 2019, he led Kansas City to their first Super Bowl appearance in 50 years, and was named Super Bowl MVP after they defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. In 2020, Mahomes led the Chiefs to their second consecutive AFC Championship game.
