Arthur Lee Shell, Jr. (born November 26, 1946) is an American former professional football player and coach. He played offensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Oakland Raiders from 1968 to 1982 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1989. Shell coached the Raiders from 1989 to 1994. He was the first African American head coach in NFL history after being hired by owner Al Davis.

Dennis Green was the first African American coach in the modern NFL era. Dennis Green was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on February 17, 1949. He was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2004 to 2006 and of the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2010. In return for agreeing to move the team to Baltimore, Modell was allowed to take his entire franchise with him, including personnel and equipment. As part of a settlement between Modell and the city of Cleveland, he was required to leave the Browns’ name, colors, squad, records and history in Cleveland for a replacement franchise that would continue as the Browns. billick would be named head coach.

In 2000, Brian Billick led the Ravens to their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history by defeating the New York Giants 34-7 in Super Bowl XXXV.
