Robert Parish
Robert Parish, nicknamed The Chief, is an American retired professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1976 to 1997 as a member of the Golden State Warriors, the Boston Celtics and the Charlotte Hornets. His final season was spent with the Chicago Bulls. Robert Parish was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
Standing at 7 feet 1 inch (2.16 m), Parish was one of the tallest players in NBA history. He was particularly known for his strong defense, despite being relatively thin for a center at 240 pounds (109 kg). In 14 seasons with New England, Parish averaged a double-double with 10.5 points and 10 rebounds per game, making him one of only four players (along with Bill Russell, Kevin McHale and Paul Silas) in franchise history to average a double-double over that span. He won three NBA championships playing alongside two other future Hall of Famers: Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.
Shaquille O’Neal
Shaquille O’Neal is widely considered one of the best players in NBA history. He is also the heaviest player ever to step on an NBA court. Shaq weighed in at 325 pounds when he was drafted by the Orlando Magic in 1992. He played for six different teams during his 19-year career and won four NBA championships.
Zion Williamson
At 6’7” and 284 pounds, Zion Williamson is currently the heaviest player in the NBA. He was drafted by the New Orleans Pelicans as the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Williamson previously played college basketball for Duke University.
During his one and only season at Duke, Williamson averaged 22.6 points, 8.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He was named the consensus National Player of the Year and won several other national player of the year awards.
