Who Won Defensive Player of the Year in the NFL for 2020?

The 2020 NFL Defensive Player of the Year was won by Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams. This is the second time he has won this award.

J.J. Watt, who plays for the Houston Texans, was named the NFL’s defensive player of the year for 2020. This is the third time he has won the award. He is the first player to win the award three times since it was first given out in 1971.

3-4 Defensive End

J.J. Watt is a 3-4 defensive end who played college football at the University of Wisconsin. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He has played his entire professional career for the Texans. He has been selected to five Pro Bowls and was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year three times. In 2020, he won Defensive Player of the Year for a fourth time, becoming just the third player in NFL history to win the award four times.

Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has been named the 2020 NFL Defensive Player of the Year. Gilmore is the first cornerback to win the award since Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib did so in 2014. Gilmore had an incredible season, leading the league in interceptions and passes defensed. He was a big reason why the Patriots had the best defense in the league.

New England Patriots

New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore was named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year for 2020 on Saturday.

Gilmore, who was also named to the All-Pro first team, is the first Patriots player to win the award since it was established in 1971. He is also the first cornerback to win the award since Marcus Peters in 2015.

Gilmore received 19 of a possible 50 votes from a panel of media members who cover the NFL. Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was second with 11 votes and Buffalo Bills linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was third with five votes.

Gilmore had two interceptions and 60 tackles in 16 regular-season games for the Patriots this season. He also had two interceptions in three playoff games, including one in a 20-13 win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.

Chandler Jones is an American football outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Syracuse, and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2015 and 2016. In 2017, he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals, where he set an NFL single-season sack record with 17 in 2019.

Chandler Jones, an outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, was named the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year by the NFL on Saturday.

Jones, who is in his ninth NFL season, is a two-time Pro Bowler and was previously named a first-team All-Pro in 2017. He has recorded double-digit sacks in five of his eight full NFL seasons, including a league-leading 19 in 2013 with the New England Patriots.

This past season, Jones helped lead the Cardinals to a 8-8 record and a second-place finish in the NFC West. He recorded 11.5 sacks, four forced fumbles and an interception in 16 games.

He played college football at Syracuse, and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jones was born in Rochester, New York. He attended Union-Endicott High School in Endicott, New York, where he played high school football for the Union-Endicott Tigers. As a senior in 2007, he was named a SuperPrep All-American and was rated as the number three weakside defensive end prospect in the country by SuperPrep. He was also rated as the number 19 player in New York state by SuperPrep.
