Who Won the MVP of the NBA Finals?
The answer to this question is hotly contested, with many people feeling that LeBron James deserved the title. However, the award ultimately went to Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors.

LeBron James was unanimously named the Most Valuable Player of the 2017 NBA Finals after leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to their second championship in franchise history. James averaged 33.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists per game in the series, becoming the first player in NBA history to average a triple-double in an NBA Finals series. He also became the first player to score 30 or more points in each game of an NBA Finals series since Michael Jordan did so in 1993.
Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2019 NBA Finals. Leonard averaged 28.5 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists in the series, which the Raptors won in six games over the Golden State Warriors.
Other Candidates
In addition to the final three, there were a few other players who were in contention for the MVP award. One was Kawhi Leonard of the Toronto Raptors. Leonard was a key player for the Raptors throughout the series and was named Finals MVP in 2019.
Another player who received consideration for the award was Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors. Green averaged 11.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game in the Finals. He also had three steals and two blocks per game. Green was a key player for the Warriors on both ends of the floor and played a major role in their comeback win in Game 5.
Last but not least, Kyrie Irving of the Boston Celtics was also in contention for MVP honors. Irving averaged 23.8 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds per game in the Finals. He shot 49 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range while also playing excellent defense against LeBron James throughout the series
