They are one of two NBA teams located in New York City; the other is the New York Knicks. The franchise began play as one of the charter members of the American Basketball Association (ABA) under the name New Jersey Americans during the 1967–68 season, playing their home games at Teaneck Armory in Teaneck, New Jersey. They then played two seasons at Long Island’s Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, before moving totheir current home, Barclays Center, in 2012.

He won two NBA championships with the Heat before returning to the Cavaliers in 2014. In 2016, he led the Cavaliers to their first ever NBA championship, and was named Finals MVP. In 2017 and 2018, he won back-to-back Finals MVPs as the Cavaliers won the NBA championship again. He currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving was the star player for the Boston Celtics when they won the NBA Finals in 2022. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the series and had some of the most memorable moments, including a game-winning shot in Game 7.
The Game
It was a close game, but the Golden State Warriors won the NBA Finals in 2022. With a final score of 108-104, the Warriors were able to take home the trophy for the second time in a row. This was a historic moment for the team, and their fans were ecstatic.

The series now shifts to Miami for games three and four. Game three is on Friday night, and game four is on Sunday afternoon.
Game 3
Jayson Tatum dunked with 12.9 seconds left in overtime to give the Celtics a 122-121 win over the Lakers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night. Tatum finished with 32 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, and Boston took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
LeBron James had 40 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Lakers, who squandered a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter and blew a six-point advantage in OT. Anthony Davis had 34 points and nine rebounds.
The Celtics went on an 18-3 run over the final 5:55 of regulation to force OT, with Tatum scoring eight straight points during one stretch. They then took control in OT, going up 121-114 on two free throws by Marcus Smart with 1:38 left.

It was Game 7 of the NBA Finals, and the Los Angeles Lakers were down by one point with just seconds remaining on the clock. Lakers’ fans everywhere were holding their breath as Kobe Bryant took the final shot. The ball went through the net and the Lakers won the game!
