After dropping Game 1 at home, Golden State won each of next three games to take a commanding 3–1 lead in series; however they lost controveryandre blew their lead by becoming overconfident and losing Games 5 and 6, thus becoming only team ever to lose an NBA Finals after leading 3–1 (six other teams had previously held this dreaded distinction). In Game 7, with their backs against wall as visiting team, Golden State never trailed en route to winning 105–97 and avenging their collapse from previous year while also winning their fourth title in five seasons (joining 1960s Boston Celtics as only teams ever acheive such feat), as well as securingraptors’ first Finals loss in franchise history after winning all previous ten appearances dating back tothen-Vince Carter-led 1999 iteration (which coincidentally is also only other time team blew 3–1 lead en route to losing Finals).

In the Conference Finals, the Rockets faced off against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Trail Blazers were led by two All-Stars in Damian Lillard and C.J. The Houston Rockets are an American professional basketball team based in Houston, Texas. The Rockets compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The team was established as the San Diego Rockets, an expansion team originally based in San Diego, in 1967. In 1971, the Rockets moved to Houston; this entailed a name change to reflect the move. The Rockets won only 15 games in their debut season as a franchise in 1967. In the 1968 NBA draft, the Rockets, picking first overall, selected power forward Elvin Hayes from the University of Houston. Hayes improved the team significantly and led them to their first playoff appearance along with fellow veteran Calvin Murphy during the 1969–70 season; defeated by Los Angeles Lakers 4–1 in Western Division Semifinals series.
The following season, however, oston Celtics and led by head coach Bill Russell achieved a then-record 68 wins en route to capturing their eleventh championship; they subsequently defeated Los Angeles Lakers again 4–3 in NBA Finals series. Despite being handicapped by injuries during much of 1971–72 campaign when they won only 30 games, they qualified for 1972 NBA Playoffs and were again beaten 4–1 by eventual champion Lakers.
When he retired after 22 seasons as head coach following 1980–81 campaign with 938 regular season victories (a record that still stands), Tom Nissalke was replaced by Raymond Blum as interim head coach for one season who took over permanent duties starting with 1981–82 season when Hubie Brown was hired as new head coach.
Under Brown’s leadership Rockets improved dramatically compiling best regular season record of 51–31 which was fifth best in franchise history up to that point; this earned them third place finish in Midwest Division which allowed them to qualify for playoffs where they eventually lost to Kansas City Kings 3–2 in First Round series despite having home court advantage.
The Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics have won the NBA Playoffs! This is their first time winning it all since 2008, and their fans are ecstatic. The Celtics have been dominant all season, and they proved it in the playoffs. They will now be heading to the Finals to take on the Golden State Warriors.

James and the Cavs would win that game, as well as Game 6 back in Boston, to take a commanding 3–2 lead in the best-of-seven series heading back to Cleveland for a potential series-clinching Game 7. However,Boston would rallying win Game 7 back in Cleveland 96–83, advancing to their 21st NBA Finals appearance overall and their first since 2010.

The Toronto Raptors
The Raptors’ Regular Season
The Toronto Raptors are a Canadian professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The Raptors compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Atlantic Division. They were established in 1995 as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada.
The club is currently owned by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE), which also owns the Raptors’ National Hockey League (NHL) counterpart, the Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as their former American Basketball Association (ABA) rival, the now-defunct Toronto Huskies. Brendan Shanahan is the current president and general manager of MLSE.
The Raptors play their home games at Scotiabank Arena, originally known as the Air Canada Centre from 1999 to 2018. The team was founded in 1995 after Maple Leaf Gardens (MLG), home of the Maple Leafs since 1931, was purchased by BCE Inc., via its subsidiary Molson Breweries and then leased back to MLSE for a period of no less than 55 years at an annual cost of $1 million per year; MLG was then demolished and its former site redeveloped into BCE Place and a new arena now stands on that site. Initially a member of the Midwest Division, winning just 21 games in their inaugural season, they finished last in division standings with a 16–66 win–loss record four years later before relocating to Toronto to become part of MLSE’s expansion efforts into basketball while also becoming members of what became plurally referred to as “The Sixth Man”. In 1998, MLSE head Lew Wolff was awarded an expansion franchise for Basketball in Toronto which would begin play for the 1999–2000 season; however due to NBA concerns about having two teams located nearby that both played under “Maple Leaf” logos and colors (the Vancouver Grizzlies and Vancouver Ravens had previously been considered forNBA franchises during previous ownership talks under previous owners Steve Stavro and Howard Sokolowski respectively), it led to them simply going by “Toronto” with no nickname or logo until fan voting selected “Raptors” over other options such as “Huskies” and “Dragons”.
The Raptors’ Postseason
After a 54-win regular season, the Raptors entered the playoffs as the East’s top seed. They defeated the Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers in the first two rounds to set up a conference finals matchup with the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers. Toronto then won the first three games of that series before losing Games 4 and 5. They regained their composure and won Game 6 back at home to clinch their first ever trip to the NBA Finals.
In the Finals, they faced off against the Golden State Warriors, who were coming off back-to-back championships. The Raptors won Game 1 handily, but then proceeded to lose the next two games in Oakland. However, they bounced back and took Games 4 and 5 at home to send the series back to Oakland for a winner-take-all Game 6. Despite being heavy underdogs, Toronto pulled off a stunning upset in Game 6 and was crowned NBA champions for the first time in franchise history.

The Spurs returned to the playoffs in 1990, losing to the eventual champion Portland Trail Blazers in the first round. In 1992, after winning 58 regular season games, they were swept out of the first round again by Portland. Things would be different in 1999: Robinson and Duncan led the team to a 37–13 record in the lockout-shortened 1998–99 season, and then through the playoffs to their first NBA Championship, defeating the New York Knicks in five games. They repeated as champions in 2003, defeating the Nets in six games. In 2005, faced with injuries to Duncan and Ginóbili during the Conference Finals against Phoenix, they nonetheless managed to win the game in double overtime and advance to their third Finals appearance of the Duncan era. With Manu Ginóbili sidelined for most of Game 7 with injuries suffered late in Game 6 against Detroit due to a hard foul by Rasheed Wallace, and Tim Duncan also playing hurt with a stress fracture in his right foot which he had suffered previously during Houston’s sweep of San Antonio during that year’s Semifinals, Robert Horry hit two crucial three-pointers late in regulation (with 5.9 seconds left) and at the end of regulation (with 0.8 seconds left) from almost exactly the same spot on top of the key giving San Antonio a two-possession lead (95–89) it would never relinquish as San Antonio went on to win 96–95 and capture their fourth championship since 1999 thanks largely in part to Horry’s heroics as well as Capture their third title since Tim Duncan was drafted 1st Overall by The Spurs back In 1997
