The Kansas City Chiefs are a professional American football team based in Kansas City, Missouri. The Chiefs compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. They were founded in 1960 as the Dallas Texans, an original member of the American Football League (AFL). In 1963, the team relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, and were renamed the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs joined the NFL as a result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970. The team is valued at over $2 billion.

Patrick Mahomes is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He is the son of former Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher Pat Mahomes. He was drafted by the Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He became the Chiefs’ starting quarterback in 2018, and led the team to a Super Bowl victory that year. He was named Super Bowl MVP as well as NFL MVP for his regular season performance. In 2020, he led the Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl appearance and victories, becoming the first quarterback to do so since Tom Brady.
